~Chapter 10~

~(Y/n)'s POV~

I got to the Nostrade mansion and rung the bell on the front gate. I introduced myself and said I was here for the job of being a bodyguard. The gate opened and I went in. There were a bunch of dogs around the path, they were probably the guard dogs. I was greeted by an old man when I went to the front door. He told me to follow him which I did. We walked into an elevator and started going up. He then lead me into a room full of people. I walked in and saw a familiar blond. I was about to run and hug Kurapika but I noticed that it was quiet so I didn't because I don't want unwanted attention. So I just walked in normally and walked to a wall to lean on. Kurapika noticed me and was about to say something but realized that the room was quiet so he smiled at me and I smiled back.

~Author's POV~

(Y/n) and Kurapika started smiling at each others without saying a word. Melody heard a nice heartbeat coming (y/n)'s way. She looked over at (y/n) and saw her smiling to Kurapika. They both had a heartbeat that sounds like they're full of love. Melody smiles to herself because it is rarely that she hears a lovely heartbeat like (y/n)'s.

~Back to (y/n)'s POV~

A man suddenly showed up on a big screen in front of all of us. He then told us the requirements to this job.

"I'm not interested in if you're a hunter or not. I'm interested to see if you can get one of the items we request." The man said as data books started to get handed around. All of us started to flip through the items that they requested. The first one was a lock of hair from the famous actress Sara. The next one was the right arm of a mummy from an Egyptian tomb. Next was an ichthyosis patient's scaly skin. The next one was a skull of a one-horned creature. The next item shocked me. It was the eyeballs of a Kurta. I felt anger as I looked at them. I can see their terrified expression on the eyeballs. I then had a mini flash back of when my clan members were laying on the ground, dead and eyeless.

"Dead... Pools of blood... My clan members are now eyeless... They're asking for help but I can't do anything..." I muttered to myself. I'm pretty sure no one heard as they didn't ask. I looked over to Kurapika and saw his eyes had turn scarlet under his contacts. The man next to him saw that Kurapika if he was ok because he seemed pale. The man saw what Kurapika was looking at and started to read some infomation on them out loud. Kurapika told the man to "shut up" and the man looked away with a "Tch".

The man on the screen started talking again. He explained the requirements to us once again and told us we have one month to get the items then disappeared. When someone tried to open the door to leave, it was locked. Then the man came back on the screen and said that the barest minimum to get hired was to escape this mansion, alive. Then he disappeared again and people dressed in all black busted through the door. Me and Kurapika stood at the front and was in our fighting stance. I didn't have any useful Nen ability in my book yet so I grabbed my daggers instead.

The mens were holding swords and some with guns came in behind them. Kurapika spun the chain on his ring finger to catch the bullets coming his way. I jumped up and started to attack them. I threw my daggers at each one of them and it hit them.

'Do these guys know how to dodge?! Doesn't seem like it.'

I saw Kurapika walking to one of the guy then
held a knife to his face and told him to stop the Nen people. The people then fell down and deflated. Only their weapon and clothes were left.

"How did you know it was me?" The guy asked

"You were always careful to stand next to others for camouflage. But when I observed from above, everything was clear." Kurapika said still holding the knife to the man's face. "You were the only one not being attacked." "I realized something was wrong when assailants appeared on the second floor. I jumped onto chandelier and they just stood there, swinging there sword in an attempt to reach me. I assume they recieved the following orders: Attack the nearest enemy." Kurapika said as I nodded in agreement.
