(Y/n) POV~
I had arrived to the ship leading to the exam. I sat quietly in a corner in a room full of strangers. There were many whispers about me, a girl taking the hunter exam. I ignored their whispers as i slowly doze off.
~In (y/n)'s dream~
"Hey (y/n)!" someone said from behind me. I turned around to see a boy with blonde hair. I couldn't see his face which i was disappointed.
"Yes?" I asked the boy.
"When we grow up we promise marry each other right?" the boy asked excitedly holding up his right pinky.
"N-" as i was about to speak i heard a voice saying yes.
I realized that it was me but when i was a kid.
"Promise?" the boy said still holding up his pinky.
"Promise!" my kid version said with a smile as she pinky promise to boy.
~Out of dream~
I woke up to people groaning because they were getting sea sick. I stood up leaning against a wall. I saw a kid with green clothing and greenish black hair helping the sick people. I saw two other guys that seems ok. One look as if he was in his thirties. He was on a hammock with a briefcase. The other guy had blonde hair and wearing a blue tabard decorated with an orange coloured hem and a full-body training suit underneath. 'He looks... familiar' I thought but i just ignored that thought. The greenish black hair kid saw me and approached me.
"Hi! My name is Gon, what is your name?" he said to me with a cute innocent smile.
"I'm (y/n). Nice to meet you Gon." I said giving him a smile back.
"You have a cool name (y/n)!" Gon said
"Thanks." I said blushing a little
Me, Gon, and the other two guys that was ok was call to go on the deck I don't know why though.
"So mind telling me your names and why you want to be a hunter?" the captain said
"My name is Gon and I want to be a hunter because i want to find my dad! He left me as a child to become a hunter." Gon said
"My name is (y/n) and i want to be a hunter because i want to get my revenge on the Phantom Troupe for what they did to my family and friends" I said as i clenched my hands into a fist
"Guys! You shouldn't tell who you are and what are your motives!" the old looking guy said
"Yes i agree" the blonde agreed
"I am a helper of the hunter exam. If you don't tell me then you failed this exam. You would have to wait for next year then." the captain said with a shrug.
The blonde guy sigh and started talking
"My name is Kurapika and i want to be a hunter to avenge my clan, the Kurtas." the blonde guy said.
I was shocked that someone from the Kurta clan survived but i was also glad.
"Do you not fear death Kurapika? The Phantom Troupe is the deadliest gang of thiefs in this world." the captain asked Kurapika.
"I do not fear death. What I fear is that my rage will one day fade away." Kurapika shook his head and replied to the captain.
"My name is Leorio and I want to be a hunter for money of course! Money can buy you everything!" the old looking guy exclaimed
"No it can not Leorio. Money can't buy you everything." Kurapika said to him.
"Yes it can and its Leorio-san to you!" Leorio exclaimed to Kurapika.
"No i'll say just say Leorio." Kurapika said calmly making Leorio mad.
"No its Leorio-san! I hope your entire bloodline get wiped out!" Leorio said to Kurapika making him mad. I was also surprised and mad at what he just said.
"What did you say? Take that back Leorio!" Kurapika said in an angry tone with his eyes turning scarlet "I said take it back!"
"It's Mr. Leorio." Leorio said back to kurapika.
Those two were fighting when a storm approached the ship
"CAPTAIN THERES A STORM COMING OUR WAY!" one of the crew mate had said to the captain.
Just as soon as he finished he was blown off the ship. Kurapika, me and Leorio couldn't catch him in time but Gon jump off the ship catching the guy while Kurapika,me and Leorio grabbed Gon just in time.
"Why did you jump off the ship you baka (idiot)! What if we hadn't catch you in time!" Leorio had sad to Gon.
"But you did catch me didn't you?" Gon said with an innocent smile that you cannot forget
"Yes we did but next time don't do reckless things again alright?" I said to Gon helping him up.
"Yes Ma'am!" Gon said to me with his innocent smile still there. "Are you ok?" Gon asked the crew mate.
"Yes thank you very much for catching me. I would've been dead if you hadn't catch me." the crew mate said to Gon.
"You should thank those three too!" he said pointing to me, Kurapika, and Leorio. The crew mate thanked us and left with the captain to take the wheel.
"I'm sorry for what I said to you Kurapika. I take it all back." Leorio apologized to Kurapika.
"I should say sorry too Leorio." Kurapika said with his eyes turning back to normal.
"By the way (y/n), why do you wear a blindfold and can you see through it?" Gon asked
"I wear a blindfold for personal reasons and yes i can see through my blindfold." I replied
"Cool!" Gon exclaimed. I gave him a smile back.
"How about we all be friends!" Gon exclaimed to me, Kurapika, and Leorio.
"Why not?" I said with a smile. The other two agreed to be friends. 'These guys are people I can trust' I said in my head.

A/N- So what did you guys think of this chapter? Some part may be different from the original hxh story because i couldn't remember some parts of hxh. Gomen! But that is what make a fanfic intresting in my opinion ^^
