After a month, (y/n) and the other applicants went back into the Nostrade mansion with their item. She greeted everyone once she got into the mansion. Kurapika was the first to present his item.

"The hair of the famous actress Sara, and a DNA test to validate authenticity."

Basho went next

"The right arm of an Egyptian mummy, taken directly from a pyramid."

Melody went after Basho

"The scaly skin of an ichthyosis patient."

Then it was Baise

"The skull of a one-horned creature."

It was now (y/n)'s turn.

~(Y/n)'s POV~

I took a deep breath and took a step forward to the table. I look at the guy who was taking the items and pulled out my item.

"A pair of scarlet eyes." I put it on the table and everyone was shocked

"I'm surprised someone was able to attain these eyes." he smiled, pleased of what I brought in. I bit my lip and went to Kurapika. He had the emotion of both shock and anger. I held his hand and smiled to him. He eventually calmed down and smiled back at me.

"Ok all five of you are hired." The guy said "I'm Dalzollene, the head bodyguard. It's a pleasure."

"I'll need you to start working immediately." Dalzollene said as he stand up and started walking to a different table

"Your mission is to escort the boss to a Yorknew city hotel room." A map then appeared on the table and Dalzollene pointed to where the hotel is

"A private aircraft will take you to Lingon Airport, just outside Yorknew. The trip between airport and hotel takes approximately ninety minutes. A special car has been prepared. You five provide the outer ring of security. Any questions?"

"Do you know who might be targetting the boss?" Kurapika asked

"That question isn't worth an answer."

"What do you mean?"

"The boss is an important figure in the underworld. There are plenty of people with reasons to hold a grudge." Dalzollene said

"Let me rephrase since you didn't understand the first time. Regardless of grudges, do you know anyone who might actually commit to an attack?" Kurapika sais as he put his hand on the table "If we can identify a few candidates, we'll know their motives, styles, and circumstances, and we prepare accordingly. That will facilitate protecting the boss."

"You said that your name is Kurapika? You are the one who doesn't understand. Our job is to protect the boss, no matter who, when, where, or how they attack. That's all you need to know!" Dalzollene said "Don't bother building a mental profile. If anything comes too close, it's hostile." The room then become silent.

"I'll kntroduce you to the boss, come with me." Dalzollene said as he walking out of the room.

"Excuse me. What's that?" Baise asked as she look at an odd looking art piece on the wall in the hallways

"It's a little too realistic." Basho said

"Yes, that is an actual human being." Dalzollene said and we all look at him in shocked " He was once a fellow bodyguard. He ignored my advice, and let himself be deceived by false information, placing not only the other bodyguards, but also the boss in danger. So he was punished." " You guys are replacing him, let's go."
