You sighed as you turned off your phone. You got another text of your so-called 'friends' about how all these other people were so annoying and how they hated them. Sure they were annoying sometimes, but the people of this group chat are just toxic.

Luckily you also had your best friend Ruel. Since you weren't in the same school, he also wan't involved with the drama. Sometimes you felt like he was the only one who really understood you.

You got a text message of one of your guy friends.

Luke: Y/N give me the answer to this question pls

Ugh, your friend was always so disrespectful and he always got somas when you didn't send any answers. While there were a lot of other text messages coming in, you just ignored the one about the question.

Luke: lol Y/N you don't have to leave me on read, you can just answer

Your other 'friend' decided to join. She was kind of toxic as well.

Nadine: sad, but not surprised, they never want us to get good grades, Luke

You just ignored the messages and decided to FaceTime Ruel. You two had known each other for about a year now. You met each other when you decided to change basketball clubs and ended going to his club. Since the beginning you kind of had a crush on him, but who could blame you? I mean who wouldn't fall for a tall, handsome guy who has the sweetest personality a human being possibly could have.

"Hey, Y/N! How's it going?" Ruel asked you cheerfully.

Immediately you felt guilty about calling him. You obviously didn't want to get him into all the drama going on with your friends, but you also wanted to get it off your chest. You sighed and decided it'd be best not to tell him about it. "Oh, I'm fine. Not that much going on lately. How about you?"

"Y/N, I know when there's something wrong. You can tell me, what's going on? Is it your friends again?" Ruel knew you friends had said some things about you and your other friends before, and he always told you to stop hanging out with them.

"My friends are toxic, Ruel! Luke is almost forcing me to send notes and answers to super easy questions, Nadine is pushing as well and they're hating on me for not doing that. And also, it's not okay that they call Anna all these bad words. It is just so mean and it is giving me a depression honestly." You let out a shaky breath.

"Oh, hon... Shall I come over? I mean, I have nothing to do right now." Ruel was such a good friend that he wanted to do that for you.

"Yes, please." You said a quick 'bye' and then hung up and waited for Ruel to get to your house. Because it was kind of cold, you decided to get a hoodie from your room. You opened up your closet and pulled out a hoodie Ruel had left when he came by last week. You put it on and it smelled just like him.

You heard a knock on the door and walked downstairs to open it. Of course it was Ruel, and the second you opened the door, you broke down and he quickly embraced you.

"Shh, shh. Hey, calm down, it's okay, it's alright." Ruel tried to calm you down. You both walked upstairs to your room. Although your parents weren't home, you still preferred being in your room.
