for the people that do not know about the hanahaki disease (i didn't know about it at first as well), it is a FICTIONAL disease where people cough up flower petals. they have this disease when their love is one sided. when someone has the disease, there are only two options to cure it. the first being having surgery to remove the petals, but that way the diseased person will not be able to remember anything about their crush afterwards. the other option is to confess their love to their crush, but if it's really one sided, they will die. if they do not confess, they will die as well.

i just read about this in a wattpad imagine, and i thought it would be nice if i wrote one myself, since i really enjoyed that one. anyways, enjoy y'all :)

also, i will continue to write in lower case, because i really like the vibe it gives ;)

this one is pretty long, 4000+ words!!

ruel quickly walked to the bathroom, to the toilet so that he could empty his stomach of all the daisy petals. lately his disease had gotten worse, giving him not much time left.

he had been to the doctor about two weeks ago, and they had given him two months left. if he hadn't confessed his love to his crush by then, he would for sure die.

the thing was, he just wasn't sure his crush liked him back. she was his best friend after all! he was so scared to get rejected, that he didn't even think of confessing his feelings. he had already found his peace in dying a young age, being only seventeen years old.

ruel was diagnosed with the hanahaki disease about four months. the doctors had given him a total of six months to live, they had predicted he'd die after that period if he wouldn't have confessed.

he coughed a lot more, bringing up daisy petals. he really wanted this time to be over.

the sad thing was that that ruel couldn't tell anyone about his disease. he didn't want his friends or family worrying about him, and most certainly he didn't want you, his best friend to worry. his best friend whom he had a crush on.

when he finished up coughing, he wiped his mouth and went to his bed. hanahaki made him very tired, which he absolutely hated. some days, he really didn't feel like getting out of bed, the only reason he did it was to spend his last days with his friends and family.

his singing career went okay, he had a lot of fans, but of course none of them as well knew about him being sick.

"ruel, where are you?" you asked him, just having arrived at his house.

"i'm- i'm in my room." ruel answered, a cough interrupting him.

"hey, are you okay?" you asked him, walking into his room, sounding quite concerned about her best friend.

"yes, yes. i'm totally fine." ruel said, again followed by a cough. "let's do something! we could go to the mall or something? or just stay inside, whatever you'd like." he added with a smile, hoping you wouldn't be worried about him anymore.

although you still weren't fully sure ruel was really feeling alright, you brushed it off. "i'd love to just stay here and watch a movie or something. i'm actually a little tired, so i think that would just be the best idea." you grinned, knowing you weren't really telling the truth, just saying it because you knew ruel couldn't handle going outside while not feeling quite as good as he should. and you really didn't mind to not go outside, a movie would be a good pastime, especially with ruel.
