Heroes without Masks

Chapter 3

Heath just left leaving me shaking on the inside. His words were settled nicely in my head, that they echoed, "No way: he made my heart flutter like that." I said as I look in the mirror and imagen his arms around me.

I throw my pillow across the room. I don't even think I've felt this way for Seth! I open my journal to the day I found out I started having feelings for Seth, 'Today I saw Seth sitting in the library alone, he's reading my favorite book I felt my heart leap when he looked up and smiled at me.'

I turn to today's page, 'Today my heart nearly jumped out of my chest as butterflies flew in my stomach, ever since Heath came to the school he's been acting like a boyfriend when I have told him, no, but today he really showed his caring side and I nearly leaped on him. I think my heart and mind are on the wrong path... I hope this was a one-time thing.'

I close the book and put it back on the shelf. I sit there and blush at his words again. I rush downstairs in time for Mrs. White to finish her cup of coffee. "Morning!" I yell and run out the door, "I'm going to Yukii's for a bit I'll call you in an hour!" she waved me off as I run down the hill then take off knowing she wouldn't notice if I did this.

Once to Yukii's house, she popped the screen off for me as I slide in and tell her what happened when we all got home. "Wait you mean to tell me, that Heath not only snuck into your room, but you think his odd form of protective side, turned you on? Well, that's a first." I threw a shoe at Yukii, "No, I think I have feelings for Heath." I said as she squints, "You can't just suddenly have feelings like that; this is the sign of lust...which usually turns into love. So, yeah be ready for that roller-coaster because you are not getting off it well until he does something dumb." I flop on my back, "No way, you know that I'm 'Miss Stone-heart' in class. I have never felt this before and I want it to go away!" Yukii calms me down as Vee pops in out of nowhere, "It sounds like you have it hard and when people have it this hard, it turns into true love!"

I was done for, Vee pats me on the back; "Well at least you know one thing." I look at her, "You finally found someone to keep you in line." I glare over at her, "Vee if you're not here to help me then leave." She giggled, "I guess planning the wedding is still too early, but it's not too early to set up a dinner date with him, you might even get lucky and lose your card."

Yukii and I both throw pillows at her, "I don't want to lose my card to a hood-rat like that!" Vee giggled, "You can't stop love, and once you've been bitten, by the love bug you'll be trapped in its grasp for the rest of your life." I started throwing pillows at Vee again when my phone went off, I pick it up and read it from an unknown number, 'Hey; I just wanted you to know that I found your number, and I'm sorry about what I did back there.' I read it again and it clicked, Heath had my number: how did he get this, my heart started to beat loudly.

I type back, 'No problem about earlier, but how did you find my number?' I asked him as he is shown typing for like ten minutes; finally, he responds with Dr. Kellie gave it to him for emergencies. The thing is Dr. Kellie doesn't even know my number. I type back, 'Sure she did, but I am busy now so the texting will need to stop.' Personally, my heart can't take it anymore.

Vee started to throw the pillows back at us. I get hit by one as Subaru: Yukii's eldest brother walks in, "If you three are going to talk, do it, quitter, please, I was up late doing homework for my college courses." Vee winded up hitting him with a pillow by mistake when she was aiming for Yukii. Vee placed the pillows down as Subaru walked in and looked at all three of us. He grabbed pillows and pretty much destroyed us. "Now then if you; kids are finished, I am going back to bed." We nod and put all the pillows back on the bed.

Yukii's mother walks in; "Girls...you are so loud; Oto-san is very upset and wants to see you three in the dojo." Yukii groans, "Mom, please help us out." She glared at Yukii and proceeded to tell her off in Japanese. We all go down to the gym where we sit on our knees for thirty minutes then we are told to clean the 'dojo'. I look at Vee, "Thanks Vee, if you weren't so loud we would still be in Yukii's room." Yukii's other older brother came down, "I heard you three were too loud this morning." He comes over and pesters Yukii, "Sora if you're going to bug us; ask dad if he can check if we did well enough." Sora rolled his eyes, "Fine, but if not, I'm coming back to tell you where all the dirty stops are."
