Heroes without Masks

Chapter 10

Beep...Beep...Beep... I open my eyes and find myself in a hospital room; I had a cast on my arm and leg. I look over to my right I see Yukii and Vee sleeping on a couch, to my left next to a window, Heath was in a chair, and Tucker and Ryan were on the floor asleep. It looked like a private room; funny most hospitals are duel rooms. I sit up and hear the door open, "I'm sure of it Grace; she'll be fine with your research we found her body healed faster than even our normal class 8 heroes, those casts will be off by tomorrow, and the Hero League leaders will be coming to visit her and her friends in a few hours." Dr. Kellie sighed and walked in with the woman she was talking too.

I look at her she was older in her mid-forties and was either a Japanese-American or a Korean-American, because of how closely she resembled Yukii. "Good afternoon, Lilia Riverside, your proceeding went better than we thought, halfway through your scanning your ruptured lung magically fixed itself. So did all your smaller cuts, the only thing we still had to worry about was your broken leg and arm, but they should be back to normal by tomorrow morning." I sigh; "When can I leave for home?" Dr. Kellie looked over to my current doctor; "Well we'll let you leave tomorrow, while we have you six here the Hero League wants to talk to you and it might take all day." I groan; "Alright then, and what was your name again?"

"Oh sorry, where are my manners; I'm Dr. Kim Young." I nod and shake her hand. "Nice to meet you Dr. Young; can we talk about payment?" Dr. Young smiled; "Surprisingly enough you're all paid for; some generous person from the Hero League paid for you, they even paid for you to have our nicest room." I don't know enough people in the Hero League to just be paid for, "Do I get a name?"

Dr. Young looked at her clipboard, "They'll be here later, you can continue to rest your friends arrived yesterday afternoon you've been out for a while." Wait its Friday, "Oh my gosh no, Vee wants to go to homecoming." I said trying to move, both doctors came to stop me; "Lilia, I think Vee cares more about you than the dance thus why she's here with you." I start to cry; "But, it's the one thing she looks forward to all freaking school year." There was stirring on my right side as arms wrap around me, "Lilia you mean more to me than that dance."

I turn and see Vee hugging me; Yukii was coming up on the other side of me. "Believe me, when we heard you were taken here, Vee got everyone to shut up and listen to her, she got the rest of the idiots to find a way for the school to be shut down; you kind of helped with that, but she also told your grandparents they were shocked but we have them in the compound getting told everything." I nod when Vee clears her throat, "They also told us you went with Heath and Dr. Kellie last night."

I glace over to Heath who still is sound asleep. Dr. Young and Kellie both walkout; "Yes last night I went with them, my grandmother told Heath off about his looks, and that he's leading me down the wrong path in wanting to be a hero. The more we do the more I crave the feeling that was locked away, I don't know about you two, but I think I'm going to be a hero." Yukii smirks; "That makes two of us; Vee do you wanna join us once our evil creator is gone?" Yukii asked her with a sideways smile; "What else would I do? Just be; a cute baker? Let's take this world by storm."

I give them each a smile; "For our families," Yukii said as she placed her hand on mine, "For our futures," Vee continued as I thought about mine; "And for our children, let's keep the world safe." I smile and squeeze their hands. Heath moved a little in the chair; "Cupcake..." his eyes widened, "Cupcake!"

Heath jumped out of the chair as Yukii moved for him, he kissed me, "Hey, did I oversleep?" his tears fall as I wipe them away; "You keep scaring me, those two had to calm me down reminding me that none of us have ever used our powers on their own statement that you must have just overused them." he said pointing to Yukii and Vee, I run my finger through his hair. I move over in the bed as he climbs up with me as Yukii kicks Tucker's shoes, "Hey, get off the floor we can share the chair now." Tucker rubbed his eyes and gave Yukii a goofy smile, "Am I being awakened by an angle?" Heath smirks at him, "Hey wake up, or your girl's gonna kill you." Tucker looks up at Yukii; then at Heath, "Man wake me from my dreams, only to find one of them waking me up."
