Chapter 12

I slept more after the energy surge this morning the doctors and nurses ran around checking on patients that were in worse shape than me. Heath slept through everything, but I did keep him up last night. They had a marathon of old tv shows we watched as kids and I wanted to enjoy it with him. Dr. Young walks in as we try to sleep more, "Okay let's get this cast-off." I nudge Heath and wake him up as he groans but wakes up, "We're leaving soon and we can sleep back at the apartment." I said patting his hand, as we watch Dr. Young and a nurse removes both casts from me, just in time for Dr. Kellie to walk in, "Alright Lilia time to walk and check your grip. My left leg itched after the cast was off, and my right arm was just sweaty. I took a pencil first and wrote my name, perfectly normal.

Getting to the floor made me nervous since Heath was told to wait on the other side of the room and I was to walk over there to him. I landed on my feet and feel fine like it was suspected, Dr. Kellie and Young both think the reason why I had to wear a cast for two days because bones aren't soft like organs are. Dr. Young did a few more things to check out my arm and leg. Heath had gone to the apartment to get some clothes Yukii and Vee brought for me. I showered as Heath left the clothes in the bathroom. I came out dressed in skinny jeans and one of Heath's old hoodies and black converse.

Heath and I followed Dr. Kellie out of the room and into the lobby many heroes and villains alike sat waiting and watching, their eyes watched us like we could either make or break their careers. I tried to ignore them as Dr. Kellie made small talk to the nurses at the front desk. "Checking out Lilia Riverside," she continued to chat it up the older women, "Hey, Cupcake are you okay?" I turn back to him, "Heath, have you noticed them? Their eyes are like daggers, don't you think?" Heath nods as we continue to watch them as they watched us. Dr. Kellie turned, "Alright kiddos let's head back to the apartment."

We step into the elevator as we slowly descended into the land of normality. It was odd since the people were just like us on the outside, but this was my first awakening. The first time I realized that I; Lilia Riverside would never be normal. We walk over to what we assume to be a prepaid cab, Heath and I look into the back and see a van full of kids. Dr. Kellie peeked in as three of the four kids screamed, "Aunt Gracie!" the kids had to range from 10 all the way down to a newborn. "Hello, you kids are looking well." Heath and I scoot back as we run into a tall bulky man, "You two must be Heath and Lilia." We nod as the man grabs my bag, "Well, let's get this in the back then we can drive to the apartment."

A woman like Grace rushed over and hugged her; "Oh my goodness Grace; look at you, you've worn yourself to sticks and bones. I'll make dinner for you and your little clan of children." Dr. Kellie looked worn, "Heath as you remember this is my sister, but Lilia this should be your first time meeting my older sister Eva Walker." I wave to her as the woman pulled me into her death grip, "Welcome to the family, Lilia I'm sure you will love living up here with us. When you start your training." Right, Dr. Kellie did say something about her sister being in the HL.

Eva smiled softly to me, but something about her sent shivers down my spine. We were forced into the van as I call Yukii, "Oi~ shut up I'm on the phone!" I pressed my lips together, "Really? You four are a mess, aren't you?" "Is, that Boss Lady? Hey, you two have a bigger room than our can we switch? Ow, Yukii why you'd do that?" Yukii's growl on the other side of the screen could be heard by Heath and Dr. Kellie, "Tucker, why don't you go lick the bathroom floor or something, I'm on the phone!" I sigh, "Yukii, we're coming home, are you guys decent, and have you destroyed the apartment? We're bringing people back with us, Dr. Kellies' sister and her family." "あらあら, what is this? Do we get to meet the boys' family?"

I roll my eyes, "Just clean up, we'll be there in 15mins okay." I heard Yukii shift, "Yeah I got you." with that I hung up. I look at my phone with confusion realizing that those four together can destroy the city by accident when cleaning. I nervously sat in the middle of Heath and Dr. Kellie as we all felt a wave of unease wash over us. My heart dropped as we pulled into the parking lot only after 10mins, "Traffic was nice today." Eva said as her husband grunts over the whaling children in front of us.
