Mellissa’s POV
We were at the mall for hours. Literally. It was now lunch time, and we were seated at a cute little restaurant on the outskirts of the mall, waiting for our food.
“So, Mellissa, you and Harry, hm?” Eleanor winked at me, leaning in close, grinning like a Cheshire cat.
“Theres nothing between us.” I was fairly certain my face was a deep shade of scarlet by now.
“Shut up, you lie.” She flicked my hand. “So, how long have you known eachother?” She demanded.
“Since we were babies. We grew up together.” I explained with a sigh. Eleanor grinned again.
“So how long have you been crushing?”
“Eleanor!”
“I’m being serious!”
“Me too!”
“Shut up, so answer my question.”
“Fine. As long as I can remember.”
“Aw, oh my gosh that’s so cute!” She gushed, taking a sip of her coffee. “I think he likes you.” I choked on my own coffee with those words. “What? I think he does!”
“No way! He totally forgot about me for two years, how could he like me without seeing me for that long?”I challenged.
“Of course he could. He may not have realized that he still loved you and tried dating other girls, maybe that’s why it never worked out. We thought maybe he was gay…” My eyes bugged out of my head. “Kidding! No, but really, maybe he never realized it was you all along.”
“Nah, he could have any girl he could ever want. From anywhere in the world. Models, beautiful girls that are obviously more pretty and probably smarter too. He couldn’t possibly like me, Eleanor, lets be realistic. He’s that IT boy that all the girls want but the ordinary girls can’t have him.”
“Maybe you are the ordinary girl that always gets the hot guy in the movies. The underdog always lucks out in the movies.”
“Exactly, in movies.”
“You’re so stubborn, Mellissa, this is ridiculous. Just accept the fact that it’s a possibility.”
“Whatever.” I rolled my eyes. “Thank you.” I said to the server as he set down my soup in front of me. “I’m nothing on what he could have.”
“Then lets make you everything he could have. We’ll get you a makeover. We still have half a day left. We will vamp up your closet, get some great makeup, and a haircut that you can totally style. You will be H-O-T, hot! He won’t be able to resist you!”
