Soon after Kathir left Murugan appa arrived at the PS house

Mullai was still upset..they had had a lovely time in kodaikanal..came so close to each other...but for all that to dissipate like this immediately after coming home was too for her to handle..she wished things were like how they were before the trip..she almost wished they had not gone on the trip..almost..but she knew that trip would be her most treasured memories once this all passed over

Dhanam, Meena, Mullai and L amma were in the hall..

Mullai was listening to all this with no great interest..the damage was done..everyone seemed to have come back to normalcy..only she was struggling...

After a point Mullai tuned out...she sat there physically present but mentally she was replaying everything from the argument to this morning..

'Oru tea kedaikkuma' echoed in her mind..

She suddenly stood up..

Everyone looked at her with expectation

Everyone were puzzled..one minute she had been sitting there listening to the conversation like it was some piece of gossip about some neighbors..but the next she stood like someone with a cause..

She did not wait for a reply and went inside

Dhanam followed and found her in the kitchen brewing TEA

No response

Dhanam : chittappakku tea ah..naane podanumnu yosichen..thengai thuruvittu pannalaamnu irunthen..nee appa kooda pesu..naan podaren

No response ..once the tea was ready Mullai reached for a flask

Dhanam : enna Mullai flask ethukku

No response..

Mullai was making omelettes now..Dhanam could only watch in concern..once she finished..she packed it in a container

Mullai : Akka naan oru ettu kadai varaikkum poittu varen..

Dhanam looked at her aghast..but then she realised..she didn't know the whole story but could guess

She didn't ask anything..

Dhanam : pin vazhiyaave po she said patting her fondly on the cheek

Mullai went half walking and half running to the shop..
