Once I got home it was 5:25. Pip greeted me at the door and I gave him food and water then hopped it the shower.

I was running on perfect time, like always. I put some pajamas on for the 'special occasion'. I put on a blue tank top and neon green pajama pants. I picked up the phone and called my favorite Chinese spot so that they can eat while listening. There is a few bruises forming already. I'll just be careful, I'm not that clumsy. The food will be over with in 20 minutes. That should be just enough time. I texted Dalton and Zach.

" Do you remember my address?"

Within minutes I got an answer. They answered in a group chat.

" Yep, we are getting a surprise for you so we might be like 5-10 minutes late,"

" Okay, that gives me enough time to get your surprises ready too,"

Well I guess it wasn't much of a surprise. It is just Chinese food and chilling in my living room. Maybe I could clean some stuff up. Nope, because everything's already clean. I can play with Pip in the meantime. He is in the back yard running around. I called his name and let him in. I grabbed one of his toys and threw it across the room. I breathed in slowly, remembering that all of my muscles are sore. Pip heard me wince and pawed at my legs.

" I'm fine Pip! I just need to take it easy," he licked my hand and ran after the toy.

I walked to where he was throwing it around and sat on the floor. He dropped it in my lap expecting me to drag it across the floor. I did and he did that hopping thing he always does. He makes me so much happier than I was. He also keeps me busy, maybe when he's older we can go on a run together. That would be so cute.

I began to drag the toy around once more until the door bell rang. I checked my phone, the numbers illuminated 6:05. That could either be the Chinese food or Zach and Dalton. I brought my wallet just in case. It was the Chinese food.

" Hello. Are you Kayla? I have 3 vegi-noodles and 6 egg rolls," he said.

" Yes sir, that's me, and that's my order. How much will this be?"

" $18.75" I pulled out 20 dollars.

" Please, keep the change," he gave me the food and took the money and went on his way.

I put it on the counter so Pip doesn't get it. He did look hungry, but I already gave him food in his bowl that was half eaten. You can't fool me mister Pip. He seemed to be really loving his dog food, so that was good.

5 minutes passed when the doorbell rang again. That's Dalton and Zach. I went to the door and opened it.

" SURPRISE!!" They screamed. Zach held a cake and Dalton held flowers.

" Aww thanks. Come in! I brought Chinese food so we better eat it before it's cold,"

" Oh my God, Kayla, you have a beautiful house!" Zach said. He was so impressed by the little things."Okay you said you had a dog, so where is the little guy?" Zach chuckled. He wobbled towards the kitchen and we followed. He set the cake down and smiled.

They both gave me a huge hug and we started sorting the food.

" Yay, no puppy accidents," Dalton chuckled.

" Okay the Chinese food is over here. I didn't know what you guys like so I just guessed. Each person gets a box of noodles and egg rolls," I said. I gave Dalton his, then Zach, then mine. Dalton was being really quiet. He also seems pale, he's not looking me in the eye.

" Hey Dalton? Are you okay? You seem a little pale," I grabbed his chin and made him look at me. Zach got silent too.

" The real question is, are you okay? You have bruises all over your arms. I know you warned us but..." Oh, that's why. He set down his box and gently lifted my arm. I winced a little and he immediately let go." I don't think you should do this anymore," he said paler than before.
