When I woke up I was in the ambulance. Good so I didn't pass out for that long. Zach was on my left side holding my hand. I slowly sat up. I was completely fine now. Maybe it was from sleep deprivation?
" Yay your awake! I got so worried. How you feeling?" Zach had his smile on.
" I feel a lot better. How's the lady and her boy? How's that man?" Zach still had his smile and realized he was staring.
" Oh umm the woman is fine, so is the boy. The woman seems to have a couple broken bones but that's the worst of it. The man was questioned and now heading to the police station. One of the nurses said you knew her? Her name was Mandy?"
" Oh thank god. Yea she's the one who fixed me up when I was 13. She's basically the best nurse ever. It's awesome because she's my nurse and my doctor," I smiled.
" I didn't know that was possible. Well at least you know her. You look much better than before," he smiled again. I must of scared him really bad. He keeps staring at me and looking at me with those sweet eyes.
" I didn't mean to scare you. I'm sorry," I pulled him in for hug. He hugged me tightly and still had his smile.
"It's fine, I just don't want to lose you," I had butterflies in my stomach. I guess I mean something to him. I kissed him passionately." See, I would miss that. Soooo much!" I smiled and blushed.
When we made it Mandy came and opened the door.
" Hey, Kayla! You're awake, this is good. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was. You had a panic attack girl!" She came in the truck and hugged me.
" That explains it. I was literally so stressed and just sat down and I was blurry." I said.
" Alright, well we need to do a check up, make sure your heart rate is average again," she helped me off the gurney and I jumped out of the truck. Zach followed right beside me. I held his hand to try and calm him down a bit.
It did seem like he let some stress out. I was glad he cared about me, but I don't think his health can do that either. I wonder why he framed out though. Mandy wouldn't tell me. I guess I have to ask him one on one.

While Mandy was checking my results, I decided to bring it up." Hey Zach? Can I ask a question?"
" Depends on what it is," he was much more calm now but I still wanted to know.
"It's about how worried you were, when I had that panic attack. Are you okay? Is there something that happened that I didn't know about?"
He tensed up again. Not as bad but I could still see it in his face. There was so much pain in his eyes. I wanted to hug him and never let go.
" Well.... my parents and brother passed away...... from a criminal escape..... when I was 6. I watched it happen, and I was the one who called 911. They didn't come in time to save them. At least I got to say goodbye," Oh my god. That's why, that's why he was so scared. He was scared of losing me and not saying goodbye. He was holding back tears. So was I.
I went over to him and hugged him tightly. I'm proud of him for telling me. He is so strong, I felt bad for making him cry.
" Thank you for telling me, I didn't mean for you to get upset," he smiled through his small tears. He was obviously trying to hold back the pain.
" It's fine..... I guess I don't have much practice telling people my back story," he wiped some tears away. I wiped the rest away.
We just sat down and held hands, waiting for my results. I let him calm down and kept silent. It was still a comfortable silence. I'm glad he was strong enough to tell me his backstory. It's really hard when you're still traumatized to tell your story. I still felt bad, but he said it was fine.
Mandy came back from the results. I wasn't fully normal again so I had to wear a blood pressure reader. It was supposed to go around your wrist and make sure it would be normal for as long as I had it. I think it's pretty cool. I don't mind wearing it. I had to wear one after my heart attack.
" Alright so you know how it works, if it beeps, your blood pressure is too high. Just remember, try to keep calm. Alright that's it for this checkup appointment," she was bringing me to the counter.
" Okay, I have 2 questions. Number one is can I fight or workout in this? Number two is I need to pay for that woman's hospital bill and the mans therapy bill, how can I do that?"
" Are you planning on getting into any fights soon?" We made it to the front counter and she added everything up.
" Well I need to do the training for the recruits tomorrow," I got my checkbook and insurance card out.
" Kayla, you know how I feel about that stupid training thing! It's stupid and all your going to do is get hurt! You are 17 and you fight like you're a professional. That's not something to take advantage of!" She steamed.
" That's what I said! If they really do their jobs, why do they have a 17 year old doing it way better than them?" Zach high fived Mandy and they laughed.
" I know you guys don't like it. I don't like it either, but I don't want to train them every single time a prisoner escapes! I would be more beat up than I am already!" I meant it too.
" The police officers were made for this! They should know how to train their damn recruits! You are still 17! They are too lazy to actually look what their doing. Name one thing they do each day while your training. Probably eating some freakin donuts on their lame ass desk!" Mandy always got so mad when we talked about this. Zach found it hilarious though. I gave Mandy the check.
" Okay you got me there. I'm sorry, I'll cancel tomorrow and talk to them about it,"
" Okay, do what ever you want! I'll be holding you up on that! I'll ask Caitlyn," if you didn't know, Caitlyn and Mandy are married. They are the cutest couple ever.
" Okay you do that, bye Mandy," I grabbed Zach's hand and left.
Well that was fun.
