I woke up the next morning feeling very happy. The image of Lei flashed through my mind as I got out of bed and got ready for the day. I was planning on going straight to the hospital to see Lei right after I bought him some coffee at the coffee shop nearby. I threw on a pair of sneakers that were pretty worn down at this point. I walked out the door with my bag hanging over my shoulder. I walk down the street taking in the air into my nose. It was cloudy today. I made it to the coffee shop not long after I set off for the hospital. I ordered 2 Iced Americanos and a small cake. 

I was waiting at the side of the shop for them to call my name when all of a sudden I saw someone walk in....my ex-boyfriend Li Jun walk in with a girl. I turn around to face the wall but it was too late, he saw me. Li Jun was pretty mentally abusive to me when we were together. He would often shame me for random things and call me terrible names. 

Li Jun and the girl walk over to me with smirks on their face giving off a major red flag. I knew I had to get out of this place as soon as possible. Li Jun laughs as soon as he is close enough to me. I close my eyes and clench them hard trying to ignore his laugh. 

"I see you are still alone?" He laughs. I open my eyes ready to defend myself. 

"So this is the girl you used to date? Hah." The girl says looking up and down at me with judgment in her eyes. 

"Yeah." He says then snorts. My mood falls. 

"I guess you used to like ugly girls then?" the girl smirks. I bite my lip and look down. I didn't want to say anything back. they finally called my name to get my coffee. I walked out of the shop but I could hear footsteps behind me. I started to walk faster and I peeked behind me to see Li Jun and his girlfriend following me. They started to walk faster. My mistake was when I tried to escape them by walking through an alleyway. That's when they pounced. The girl pushed me into the wall causing me to spill the coffee I was holding all over me and dropping the small cake. My head hit the wall and I fell down holding the back of my head in pain. The girl punches me in the face as Li Jun records everything. I wipe off the blood from the corner of my mouth.

"don't you have anything better to do than beat me up?" I grunt. She smirks. "

I just want all of my friends to see how ugly you are." She says. I roll my eyes. She punches me a few more times before she turns around. She waves at the camera and then turns around. 

"Babe put the camera down and hold her leg down." The girl says. Li Jun sets the camera down still recording and walks over grabbing my leg and slamming it against the ground. I try to wiggle out of his arm but the girl smacks me in the face. I stop moving. She stands up straight, smirks then stomps hard on my ankle causing me to scream.

"AHHHHHHHHHH!" I yell in pain. I felt my ankle crack. 

"HEY!" I hear someone yell. Li Jun looks back and then grabs his girlfriend's arm to run. I look over to see Ximen and Si running towards me. I tried to sit up but that's when I realized I couldn't move my ankle. I looked down and my ankle was already swelling up. my eyes widened and I screamed again. Si kneels down and looks at my ankle, then looks at Ximen. 

"We have to get her to the hospital," Si says. Ximen nods. Si picks me up carefully. Ximen and Si take off running down the alley and down the street. Tears were streaming down my face from the pain. After running for what seemed like forever we finally made it to the hospital. They ran inside. 

"Y/N?!" I hear Lei yell. He was down in the lobby getting a drink from the vending machine. Lei runs after Si and Ximen who were rushing to the front desk.

 "Woah, what happened?" The nurse says.

 "We saw some people beating her up in an alleyway, One of them stomped down on her ankle and we think it might be broken because she can't move it or feel it," Ximen says. The nurse nods and another nurse brings over a wheelchair. Si gently sets me down in the chair. Lei ran up next to me and grabs my hand following the nurse down the hallway. he was walking alongside me. 

"Excuse me sir, who are you to this girl?" The nurse asks Lei. 

"I'm her boyfriend." He says quickly. I could hear the fear in his voice. 

"Sir you need to go back to your room." The nurse says. 

"Please take care of her," Lei begs. The nurse nods and Lei lets go of my hand.

Soon after the nurse brought me to the emergency room a doctor came in to look over me. I waited for about 15 minutes before the doctor came back and told me that my ankle was broken and I had a concussion. They said I had to stay overnight for observation. They moved me into the same room as Lei which was probably because Si asked for that. Lei watched as they brought me into the room. The nurses left and Lei walked over to my bed and sat down.

"So what happened?" Lei asks taking my hand into his. 

"My ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend beat me up after we met at a coffee shop...I was going to bring you coffee and a cake. They followed me then she beat me up. He held my leg down and she stomped on my ankle, it's broken, and I have a concussion. I will be here overnight. I get discharged tomorrow afternoon, the same time you do." I say. Lei nods. His face falls.

 "We just started dating and I already let you get hurt..." Lei says looking down. I hold his hand in mine. 

"Look at me, Lei," I say softly. His eyes move to meet mine. "It's okay, you are very important, and if you were to get hurt from trying to save me that would be terrible. Don't feel bad. I'm going to be okay."

"I can't believe we are both in the hospital because of our ex." He says. I chuckle. 

"I know right," I say. "Listen, let's just focus on getting better so we can get out of here okay?" I say. Lei nods. I smile and lean in to kiss him. I pull away and smile. He smiles back at me.

 "Get some rest." He says. I pout then pat the spot next to me. Lei smiles and lays down next to me. I nuzzle up next to him. He put his arm around me and holds me. I feel so much better in his arms.
