Whoa this Quote actually makes sense, "a little progress each days adds up to big  results". it is trying to tell us in my own words that that when you make progress from time to time or from day to day.

You can only get better through actions. Motivation is the willingness, the urge, the need, and the desire to perform an action. ... So it can be said that any action that we take is motivated by something.

The saying is that Motivation is the willingness, the urge, the need, and the desire to perform an action. Motivation allows us to keep moving. Biological, cognitive, emotional and social forces can influence our behavior. So it can be said that any action that we take is motivated by something.

There are many theories proposed to understand the motivation like- instinct theory, drive reduction theory, arousal theory, and humanistic theory. Variety of components affect our actions and different forces motivate an individual to perform an action, therefore it is necessary to look at a broader perspective of the situation rather than trying to fit actions in one of the theories.

As we understand, motivation can be varying, but broadly it can be divided into extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. Extrinsic (external) motivations we gain from outside our self, from the surroundings, for example- praise from the team members. Whereas intrinsic (internal) motivation is derived from one's own self, for example- self-gratification.

But sometimes while discussing motivation, we get confused between drives and motives. Drives are biological forces of motivation whereas motives are social and psychological mechanisms that motivate our actions. Both drive and motive can be manipulated through deprivation and stimulation and as a result motivation gets triggered in the individual.

When we begin something new, to initiate a behavior, motivation is required. For instance, I want to begin writing. When I ask myself, why did I decide that? That's because I want to share my thoughts with the world and it gives me happiness.

Does motivation only help us in initiating an action? No. For persistently continuing the desired action requires motivation as well. To surpass the obstacles and for a continuous effort to attain a goal motivation is required. For instance, writing blogs persistently need motivation. Almost every writer gets hit with writer's block but to overcome the block requires motivation, which can be extrinsic or intrinsic.

Hence, motivation inspires us to grow, to push the limit and take one step forward. But sometimes we feel demotivated and there are several factors like fear, lack of clarity and autonomy, feeling unchallenged, emotions, burnout, setting unattainable goals, having a conflict of values, etc., that causes de motivation. But by acknowledging the conflicts and can help us feel better.

Understanding motivation is essential for personal growth as well as being productive. The power of motivation is strong. It is a need to survive and a need to belong. If we can harness the motivation, there is nothing really that can stop us from doing it.
