Part 19.

"Thank god Sumo tujhe hosh aa gaya!" Pushkar said entering the hospital ward. As soon as they entered, Preeti ran towards her sister and hugged her.

"Arre Preeti kya hua tujhe?" Suman said hugging her back while Preeti started sobbing.

"Aap mujhe chhod kar jaa ne waale the na!? Aap mujhe aise akela kaise chhod sakte ho!?" Preeti said still hugging her sister.

"Nahi jaa rahi mai tujhe chhod kar!" Suman said rubbing her back to calm her down.

"Di, I am sorry!" Preeti said.

"Tu sorry kyu bol rahi hai?" Suman asked pulling back from the hug.

"Mai ne aap ko akele jaa ne diya bade papa ke office mein" Preeti whispered to her, she didn't want Shravan to hear.

"Jo hona tha woh ho gaya!" Suman said smiling at her little sister.

"Par...." Preeti tried to say but Suman interrupted her.

"Shhh! Kuch nahi hua na mujhe. Chal ab uss baat ko chhod aur jaa mere liye kuch accha khaane ko laa" Suman said trying to lighten the environment.

"Abhi laate hai!" Pushkar said from behind and took Preeti with him to give his brother and best friend some privacy.

"Sumo?" Shravan sat near her legs on the bed.

"Hmm?" Suman replied.

"Hua kya hai?" Shravan asked holding her hands. She knew he wanted to know what is happening between her and his father.

"Kya hua hai Shravan?" She tried to act normal. She didn't want him to know his father's truth.

"Tumhe bhi pata hai ki hua kya hai, aur tumhare alawa koi acche se jaanta bhi nahi hai ki hua kya hai. So please, I request you to tell me!" Shravan pleaded.

She saw her best friend, her husband, her everything pleading in front of her. She thought that it will be better to tell him rather than seeing him plead.

"I don't know whether you will trust me or not but still..." Suman started speaking but Shravan interrupted her.

"I trust you Sumo!" Shravan assured her.

"But still I don't know whether you will trust me on this or not" Suman said, Shravan frowned at this but didn't say anything and let Suman say.

"You remember the day when Preeti and Pushkar's marriage got fixed?" Suman asked.

"How can I forget that day, that was the day when I called you to confess my love for you. But you didn't show up" Shravan said with a sad smile playing on his lips.

"Yeah right! I knew you were going to propose, in fact I was almost on my way to the coffee shop but..." Suman stopped.

"But?" Shravan asked her to continue. With fidgeting fingers she continued.

"Ramnath uncle came to meet me that day, he was afraid that I might try to patch up you and Nirmala aunty." Suman said.

"And why did you want that?" Shravan asked.

"Because she was craving for her son, she wants her son to love her back but I don't think so that is possible anytime soon" Suman said.

"Whatever, continue!" Shravan asked her to continue.

"Ramnath uncle always wants you to keep it to himself. He don't want you to love someone else other than him. So he tried to..." Suman stopped again.

"Shravan please don't interrupt me now. Burst out when I am finished, okay?" Suman didn't want any interruption.

"Okay!" Shravan said.

"Uncle came to me that day and gave me a blank cheque. He said that he will break Preeti and Pushkar's marriage if I don't stay away from you!" Suman said all together. After saying she released a breath and looked at Shravan. He was dumbfounded but he didn't burst out.

After what his father did a few hours ago with Suman, he surely didn't trust his father at that level like before he used to do.

"And what did you do?" Shravan asked. He couldn't believe this much happened and he was not even aware about this.

"Mai kya hi kar sakti thi" Suman chuckled sadly and continued.

"Mai ne unn ko cheque toh waapis kar diya lekin mai ne Preeti aur Pushkar ke shaadi ke liye unn ki ek baat maan li!"

"Mujhse dur rehne lagi!" Shravan completed her sentence.

"Mujhe ek baar bata ne ka bhi nahi socha?" Shravan asked being disappointed that she didn't trust him enough to tell her problems.

"Socha tha, bohot baar socha tha!" Suman replied to his question.

"Toh phir kyu nahi bataya?" Shravan asked. If she thought of telling him then why the heck didn't she do it.

"Tum believe karte? I know Shravan, I know what Ramnath uncle means to you" Suman said.

She was right. He wouldn't have believed her if she told him that his father blackmailed her. How could he believe her then? He was so blind towards his father's action or his blind trust on him.

Shravan was feeling guilty, guilty for having that blind trust on his father, guilty for not making Suman believe that she can share everything with him, guilty for being the reason she is in right now.

"I am sorry!" Shravan whispered, his head hung low.

"For what?" Suman asked.

"For not being with you today morning and then all this happened" Shravan said.

"According to that then I am sorry too!" Suman said.

"Why are you sorry?" Shravan asked looking for her.

"When you needed me the most I insulted you and left you" He knew she was talking about her childhood mistake.

"Sumo you have already said sorry for that, now no more!" Shravan said.

"I left you waiting for hours in the coffee shop" Suman said.

"That was not your mistake, someone made you do that!" Shravan said.

"Then this..." Pointing at her bandage "is also not your mistake" She said.

"You are my strength Shravan. Because of you I fought with everything and everyone. Because of you I could stay strong when everything was falling apart, just because of you!" Suman said poking his chest with her index finger.

"You are my world Sumo!"

Shravan smiled and pecked her lips lightly making her blush.

Knock! Knock!

Preeti and Pushkar came inside with two plates of food for Shravan and Suman. They gave them food and then the four of them started chatting.

Shravan made a note in his mind to talk to his father, where as Suman knew that Shravan will definitely try to talk with Ramnath and she hoped that he tells Shravan the truth, truth about Nirmala.
