Tale of Yokais

Chapter 28

While Ungaikyō went to get the others and notify them about the humans, Momiji had been chasing after them. It wouldn't be good if they caused issues with the yokais, especially attacking them. Even if it was in self defense, the yokais probably wouldn't attack them. Only try to stop them and bring them to the Katanashu.

'How did humans even find their way here? Sure some accidentally wander in a few times, but never really three at once' Momiji wondered. 'We really chose the wrong time to not be at the station'

He had lost track of the humans for a few minutes before he heard some commotion. So he ran toward the noise, finding some yokai who seemed surprised. Some ran up to him, telling him that three humans just ran by and asked why humans were running around their town. Momiji apologized for the trouble and assured them that it'd be taken care of.

'Luckily the yokai are responsible and help handle getting humans who wander in back home'

It didn't take long for him to find the three humans again. They might of been surprised at first, but now they were just being normal mischievous teenagers. Knocking over some items from stands and causing some trouble. It irritated the yokais who ran the stands who yelled out to them. If they weren't stopped anytime soon, they might actually anger more yokais. Honestly, he didn't want to know what happens if they angered the yokais that much.

Especially thinking back to the tournament when attacks happened, the yokais were ready to get revenge. 

"You three stop right now! You're not supposed to be here!" Momiji called out.

"We don't have to listen to you!" one human called out.

"As a member of the second squadron of the Katanashu, it's my job to get you three home. Humans are not supposed to be here, so I suggest comply"

"He's right, you humans have been nothing but trouble, go back to your own realm!" a yokai exclaimed. The other yokais in the area had gathered around due to the commotion that had been going on. None of them seemed happy or willing to let the three leave the area to cause even more trouble.

"Momiji!" Looking over, Momiji was suddenly embraced by Ungaikyō. Behind him was the others, Hanabusa seemed concerned about the fact there was humans. "I brought the others like you said to.."

"Good job Ungaikyō, I'll treat you to ramen once we settled all of this" 

"Really..?!" he seemed happy about that.

"You three, come with us this instant, you've caused trouble for the yokais and as the Katanashu it's our duty to deal with humans who wander in here. Especially if they caused trouble for the yokais. You're in some serious trouble yourselves for your actions" Hanabusa said. He ordered the other Katanashu to help escort them back to the station.

Ungaikyō wanted to tag along with Momiji, but was told to stay put since they'd be erasing the three human's memories of yokais so it wouldn't be ideal to have him there. Even if he was half yokai. They weren't supposed to know they existed. Once their memories were erased and brought back home, they'd be able to spend time together again. This time uninterrupted.

"When is Momiji coming back.." Ungaikyō huffed, his face against the counter of the ramen stand. Kyuubi had been watching him sulk. It had been half an hour and for the entire time he just sulked. Those two had became so close to where Ungaikyō missed Momiji even if they were separated for just a few minutes.

"Before you'd avoid him at all costs, now you're so attached that you don't even want to be apart from him, not even for a few minutes" Kyuubi sighed, folding his fan. "They have to ensure those humans don't remember anything about us yokais and make sure they get back home safely"

"They don't all have to be there though.." Ungaikyō pouted.

"Onibi and Kamaitachi had to stop spending time with the Katanashu they like and they're just fine" Kyuubi sighed.

Ungaikyō simply huffed and looked away, he was being childish, he knew that. But he also didn't care. He just wanted to spend all his time with Fuuka. They had spent years apart before and he had just gotten used to his company. He didn't want to be apart from him again.

Suddenly he felt someone pat him, looking up expecting to see Momiji. Instead it was Mizuchi, smiling at him. "Relax Ungaikyō. I'm sure Momiji is just an anxious as you, to get back to being with you as soon as possible"

"You think so..? It's hard to tell with him.."

"I have no doubt behind that composed expression of his, he wants to be with you so badly"

That honestly made Ungaikyō smile a little, maybe Mizuchi was right. Onibi and Kamaitachi ran over and began telling him the same thing, that Momiji wanted to be with him, how much he cared for him, etc. They were really trying to cheer him up.

"You all have a lot of good things to say about me" 

They all looked to see Momiji approaching. Ungaikyō immediately got up from his seat and hugged Momiji almost instantly. The action kind of took the Katanashu by surprise. 

"You two are that in love you have to embrace once you're together again?" Kyuubi sighed, unfolding his fan again.

"Let them have their moment Kyuubi-no-kitsune" Mizuchi chuckled. "Now that everything has settled down..I wonder how the rest of the days will be like"
