"Onibi, I know you've gained feelings towards someone"
"Eh? What do you mean?" Onibi tilted his head, was it so easy to tell?
"I've heard from Kamaitachi you seem to like that Katanashu who tries to stop you from sneaking by"
"Aoi? W-Well.." Onibi mumbled.
"Fufufu, it's fine if you have feelings for him now. I suspected this would happen eventually, I won't stop you from trying to get together with a human. Even if I don't fully trust humans still, let alone dating my little flame, I wont interfere with your love life unless I have to, at least only when I see red flags you don't see"
Onibi was taken aback a little at how understanding Kyuubi was, as well as how he supported his feelings for Aoi. He was happy that he didn't have to try convincing the kitsune to let him try dating the Katanashu he had ended up falling for.
"Although, if Aoi does anything to hurt you, emotionally or physically, I'll make him pay" Kyuubi smiled eerily.
"You're going to scare him off before I even get a chance..!" Onibi pouted.
"Sorry, but I can't help but be protective. Now go on and confess to him, no elaborate plans like you tried before with getting Kamaitachi and Madoka together. I believe in you"
The young yokai smiled and nodded before rushing off to find Aoi. He knew exactly where to find him. Aoi rarely left the Katanashu station. It was just a matter of where in the station was, there was various rooms. Oh well, he'd find him eventually.
. . .
"Aoi!!" Onibi called out, running over to the other. It had taken him about ten minutes to find him. After looking through so many rooms.
"What're you doing in the station? You're not trying to sneak by, that much is obvious. The exit is the other direction"
"I'm here to talk to you!" he pointed at Aoi, "So listen up, okay?!"
"Okay..?" Aoi replied, setting down the papers he had been holding. Paperwork would have to wait until later after he dealt with Onibi.
"I like you a lot!!" the yokai exclaimed with a flushed face.
"..Like as in friendship or like like as in love..."
"Love! I love you, there I said it! Now do you feel the same or not.."
The Katanashu stared at him for a few minutes before saying anything. "Since when did you starting having feelings for me?"
"I honestly don't know, I just know I started to like you. Sure we weren't really friends, more like acquaintances, but that shouldn't really matter, right? So, what's your answer to my confession!" He didn't want to sound impatient but, he really wanted to know if his feelings were returned or not.
Aoi sighed and grabbed his hand, "It's kind of annoying whenever you try sneaking into the human world...but, yeah..I guess I feel the same. We can try dating if you really want to" Aoi replied with a small smile.
Onibi was so happy to hear that he felt the same. He immediately hugged Aoi who hugged him back. Although they were together now, he still didn't plan on stopping on sneaking into the human world. That much would never change.
"By the way, Kyuubi said he'd make you pay if you hurt me emotionally or physically"
He paled at that statement, "Can your caretaker maybe not threaten me..I'm not planning on hurting you in any way. But seriously it's scary how overprotective he is of you"
The fire spirit giggled and hugged him again before pulling him along by his arm. "Let's go tell Kyuubi-no-kitsune the good news! I won't let him hurt you either" he reassured him. Onibi didn't want Kyuubi scaring Aoi away or hurting him. He'd defend him if Kyuubi tried. It was better if he learned about such hardships eventually.
"If you say so.."
. . .
Ungaikyō sighed as he relaxed against the trunk of the big maple tree. He was sitting on the same old branch he was always found sitting on. Thinking back to the conversation he had with Momiji a while back, about what it would of been like if they had met in the past. When he was still human. Would a relationship ever would of worked between them back then? Their families were enemies even back then.
-----
"Tadaakira!"
-----
He remembered..he had known someone back then. Maybe an ancestor of Momiji's. The thing was, he didn't exactly remember. It had been hundreds of years and the only thing he ever remembered vividly was the day his family was all killed. Except for him, who ran away like a coward.
All he knew was he remembered someone, really vaguely though. There was no point in trying to remember who it was, especially since he didn't know exactly who they were. Or if they were even important.
"Zoning out again Ungaikyō? This is becoming a habit" Momiji chuckled.
The mirror yokai looked down to see Momiji approaching. He hopped down and hugged Momiji. "I was thinking about the whole if we had met in the past thing again.." Momiji mumbled a 'mmm' as he relaxed in the other's arms. They had gotten used to being together now.
"I asked Hanabusa if it's okay if I stay with you for the night, if that's fine with you"
"..Alright..this time it won't be against your will too" Ungaikyō replied, thinking back to that time. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to abduct him, but that was in the past now. And neither of them were bothered by that incident anymore.
"Well, lead the way, because I still don't know the way to and from your house" Momiji smiled.
He nodded, grabbing Momiji's hand and leading him through the forest to his house. Finally they'd be able to spend the night together again. This time on good terms.
