41: Everest

I could not believe my eyes. The members of the pack were slowly getting affected by a form of gas, causing them to go insane and slowly begin to kill themselves. Unlike me, they had no healing powers if they tried killing themselves. They would just bleed to death.

Austin and Wolvie had been sent out to try investigating the source of the gas for days now. There was still no news. I was beginning to get a little worried. At first I was rather patient but I was beginning to get hyper anxious, which was usually a bad sign. I tried taking in a few deep breaths to calm myself down but I couldn't help it. More and more of the pack were getting infected with the gas and both Wolvie and Austin have not been responding to the calls.

As more days passed, I began getting hallucinations again. Nightmares began coming to me every night. Sometimes my aura would turn darker than usual and even the closest friends couldn't be in the same room as me.

"Hello? Is Everest there?"

"Wolvie! You finally called! Are you two okay? Why haven't you been answering my calls? You made me worried."

"Hey... I'm sorry. There have been quite a few enemy packs so we couldn't call. We didn't want to alert them with the radio signals. Austin's trying to distract the Green Sun pack members who have been following us."

Suddenly there was a loud growl and Wolvie ended the call. An attack probably. At least they were still alive.

Green Sun pack... A war? How dare they mess with us.

"Dave, do me a favour. Can you go through the history books on the Green Sun pack?"

He nodded and went straight for the library.

When Dave came back, he looked a little anxious.

"What's wrong?"

"The... the green sun pack. They have been our rivals since our pack was formed. Their Alpha is weak but they all have special powers. Something about enhanced strength."

I cursed silently under my breath. Enhanced strength... This was going to be tough for Austin and Wolvie if they even went against more than 10 of the Green Sun Pack's members. I had to go help them or they would be doomed.
