There's always people in this world who want you to give up. Don't make their jobs any easier.
David (Prince Charming), Once Upon a Time.
Another disclaimer: I've used some of the original text and storyline from the script of episode 53, as Defne's monologue in beginning goes exactly with how she's feeling in this chapter. So if some of the words and feelings sound too familiar, it's because they are. Thank you so much for your kind comments!
Ömer,
I know you don't want to hear from me. I know you changed your number. And I understand, I do. I'm not trying to force my way into your life as I've once done, even though I'm sure it must feel like it.
However, I really need to speak to you. I can't tell you what it is through letter, but I promise you it's important.
Defne.

One week later.
It was a boy.
'Do you want me to print you a copy of the ultrasound?' The kind technician asked her gently. It was as if she could see Defne needed a few moments to get herself together.
'Yes. Yes, I do. Can you print two of them? For his father,' her voice faltered lightly but the technician nodded. His father. Oh my goodness. A boy.
She could barely believe her eyes. She was four months pregnant. Four months.
But it was there. This was happening and was as real as real could get. She felt a tear making its way down her face. She wanted this to be a happier time, she didn't want to be alone. Of course, she wasn't all alone. Iso wanted to come with her. He practically begged her to come, and even though he was the only person she'd feel comfortable enough to have in the room with her, se felt it was too intimate a moment for her to share even with Iso.
And it wasn't fair, because he was being so so supportive, she didn't think she'd be strong enough to go through this without having him at her side. She didn't have Ömer anymore, but she would always have Iso. Always.
It was more than she could say for her own family. She'd have to tell them soon. She was already showing, and ever since she found out she was pregnant, it was as if her belly got even bigger. Apparently her son was like 'now that you know I'm here I won't go unnoticed anymore' and she loved it, she was feeling so may things at once, and she was glad. She was in a limbo, all she did was work and sleep, she couldn't taste her food, and she felt tired to her bones. She thought it was an accumulated relief from not having to think about her lies anymore. But now she thinks it was just her pregnancy. Maybe it was a mix of everything.
She put her clothes back on and went to the doctor's office. She came back with her two equal pictures and spoke to her about how she was feeling, said she was a little dehydrated and that she had to eat more, asked her about morning sickness, prenatal care, a list of foods she couldn't eat, a list of foods she should eat, dos and don'ts, and by the time she was scheduling their next appointment Defne's head was spinning.
