"Now they were as strangers; worse than strangers, for they could never become acquainted."
Jane Austen, Persuasion

Note: Arkadaşlar, I am alive lol no, seriously, from the bottom of my heart, I'm sorry it took me so long to be back. I've been crazy busy and since I've never written such a long fic, this has been a challenge to write, and I say that in the creative side of things and the it's been hard to find the time part. I wrote this just now, it's unedited again so be gentle, lütfen. I am not sure yet how many more chapters there'll be, but I'll try to post the next one quicker than this one and I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for reading it and for all your comments! Öpüyorum!

Ömer

He was thinking of Iso's reactions when he saw all the toys that he bought him. Defne was not going to like it. Well, too bad, he was his son and he was 6 months behind on gifts.

He noticed Sinan out of the corner of his eye entering his office. 'Ugh! This woman drives me up the wall!'

'What is it, Sinan?' He looked really to blow a gasket.

'Ömer, I'm not exaggerating. She just won't meet us in the middle. She won't listen. She wants everything done the way it is in her mind and that is that.'

'Tamam, calm down.'

'I can't, really. So, I go down there to talk logistics and I ask her politely: 'what are we going to do about the logistics issue?' and she says there's not anything she can't, this is their floor and she won't budge. All Ms. Yasemin does is rant and rave.'

He raises his eyebrows at Sinan after that Freudian slip.

'I meant Ms. Seda.' Ömer had yet to meet Ms. Seda, so he didn't really have anything to add to that statement, he could only imagine she was a remarkable woman if she managed to get a rise out of Sinan and brought back flashes of his ex-wife.

'What did you agree on?'

'Oh, we agreed on nothing. I'm telling you, she did say we'd have another meeting in an hour. You should come with me.'

'All right, don't worry, we'll get this sorted.' They always did.

'Sure, yeah...' He looked a bit lost in thought. So, he decided it was a good time as any to give him the news.

'Sinan, how did you know Defne worked here?'

He looked up and when he saw Ömer was calm as he could be, he relaxed slightly before answering him, 'Oh, so you saw her, huh... did you two talk?' He looked worried at the thought of them talking. He should.

Oh, they spoke, all right. 'So, you knew Defne worked here.' There was no way Sinan knew Defne was pregnant, he'd never keep that to himself. However, he was curious as to what Sinan knew.

'I did, yeah. Ms. Seda is my mother's tenant so I brought up how Defne was looking for a new job and I let my mother use my name to give her a good reference. That's all really, but mom said it really helped that Defne was already familiar with the building, what with the position she was applying.'

'What's her position here, really?' He already saw it was very different from what she used to do when she worked with them. Why did she quit design?

'She's the director of logistics.' That's what he thought, it was oceans away from what he thought she'd be doing. A year really changed them. Was it only because she was in need of a job?

'What is it? I can tell you want to ask me something, look I don't know her marital status, or anything about her, really. And I don't want-' Oh he didn't even want to think about this, his brain was hurting a lot with so much issues to go through. He was going to look into her love life, he just wanted to do one thing at a time. He was going to get angry, he just knew it.
