But fate it a cunning hussy, and builds up her plans as imperceptibly as a bird builds her nest; and with the same kind of unconsidered trifles.

Note: Hi guys, thank you so so much for reading it and for all your kind words. I get really anxious when I'm writing those fics so your feedback is very much appreciated! I will try to update it as soon as possible so let's all hope that work does not take all my energy and my classes do not come back until next month *fingers crossed*

Defne

Something woke Defne up earlier than usual. It was a strange feeling. She checked up on Iso, but he was sleeping soundly, as he usually was. He was such a calm child. Defne was so lucky.

All those stories she heard of crying babies or 'say goodbye to your sleeping hours', and yes, she experienced it to an extent. But here he was, almost six months old and still all the work she anticipated didn't really come true. Yes, he does take away all of her energy, but in the best way. He was the light of her life, and the most perfect child to ever exist in the whole world. But more importantly at the moment, he was still very much asleep.

So what woke her up? She always enjoyed all the sleep she could get. However, she was wide awake, so she might as well get up and pump milk to leave Iso for the day. She was lucky she had the best boss in the whole world, she could get to work later and leave earlier, or whenever there was an emergency. Seda was going through a nasty divorce and as a mother, she said Defne could count on her. And count on her she did. Seda was a very fair boss and always praised her work when she did a good job, and most importantly, she wanted to build a child day care at the company as soon as things get better.

Unfortunately, the company was not doing well, they had been having crisis for months. Defne even had to work from home before her maternity leave was over so she could help Aytekin solve a last minute issue on a delivery that was incredibly late and she had to talk to their client herself. Aytekin said the matter needed a 'feminine touch', which was his way of saying he did not get paid enough to into the big messes. Thankfully he managed the little ones well enough.

Baby Iso was staying with his uncle Iso that morning, since grandma was still recovering from a cold. Nihan said she was fine, just needed a little rest and a bit of pampering. Defne just ignored her when she asked once again why she wasn't moving back home. She just said she had a system ready the their home for her family. Defne was so happy her family accepted her back into their lives and welcome her baby with arms open, but after everything that she went through, all the words that were said, she just needed a safe haven. A place that would not be taken away. Iso was now her family and it was her responsability that he grew up in the warmest and loving of the environments.

Plus, it helped that she rented one of the houses of the villa, so she just told her grandma they were practically neighbors and they saw each other almost every day. And then she had another list of reasons why she should be back under the same roof, but Dene would not budge, it was important to her that she could stand on her feet.

She took a photo of her son for her to took on her way to work and waved to him 'bye, baby, be good for mommy today. I'll be back as soon as I can,' she said goodbye to both Iso's and went to look for a morning snack. She was still always hungry and had to have something to munch on since lunch was so far away yet.

She looked at the photo she had just taken and for a split second he reminded her powerfully of his father and sighed, it happened all the time because even though Iso had a bit of red hair, it was becoming darker now so thinking of Ömer was inevitable, didn't mean she had to like it. She didn't like to go there in her mind because she ended up allowing herself to dwell on the past. Looking back on the mistakes she had made was counterproductive. Those experiences had taught her hard lessons and she had moved on past them.
