I woke up to the sound of my alarm. Frustrated at its sudden noise, I groaned against my pillow and reached out to turn it off. I remembered I could not laze around and play with the alarm clock like any other day. I had roughly turned the pages on the rule book last night and except for other basic rules, it said that participants needed to report to the location before noon. There was not much of a mystery in the rule book like I expected. I could do without reading it too.
I gave a quick look at the clock and I still had 5 hours at hand. I pushed the bedsheets aside and got to my feet. Lazily, I brushed my teeth and took a few extra minutes to clean myself and come out of my sleep. From trying to reduce my dark circles to setting up my hair, it took quite some time. Leaving the bathroom, I walked to my closet and picked up my favorite dresses deciding I wanted to look good at all times. I made sure to pack my makeup and every other essential item I owned.
After I was done packing I ate cereal for breakfast not wanting to waste time cooking something and was soon dressed and ready to leave. Id worn one of my favorite off white lacey dress, in an attempt to have a good first impression.
I sent Kaden a text that Id drop my extra keys at his place just in case he needed them and locked the door behind me. Standing outside my house door, I let out a breath staring at it. This wont be something you will regret' I assured myself before swallowing hard and turning towards my car.

Kaden sent a worried look towards me. After I dropped my keys at his place he gave me a big brother talk on how I should be careful. Sam was there too. She pulled me into a hug telling me how boys were and how I should be prepared to kick someone in the right place if the need arises. Kaden gave her looks every time she mentioned the words 'all boys'. The two of them always made me laugh.
Before I could turn to leave Kaden pulled me into a hug that he used to exclusively supply only on birthdays. A small smile crept on my lips and that moment, I realized Id miss him the most.
My mother called up three times that morning to make sure I left on time and that I was well prepared. Shed been out of town with her husband for a business trip. But she made sure I didnt feel like my mother wasnt hovering above me. She believed in this place quite a lot since the time she heard of it. I assured her that I wasn't going to disappoint and whether or not I found somebody, I would give it a try.
I started to drive towards the place with anticipation. Though the drive was long I didnt feel like it. I was so lost in thoughts about this place that the journey seemed too short. I pulled up in the same spot as the last time.
The place looked different from the last time I visited. There was a separate parking area which wasnt there before. There was also a gateman at the gate I hadnt noticed before who directed me towards the parking.
There were many more cars parked there and a few people near the parking. By the looks of it, none of them knew the other. No one here knew their fellow participants. A few boys tried striking conversations with girls around them and so were they. I also seen a few middle-aged couples and seeing them just made me more nervous. Does love run out with passing age?
I walked past them with a smile glued to my face and reached the entrance. The look of the entrance hadnt changed much except that the registration desk wasnt there. I walked to the gate and entered the huge ground gawking at the arrangements there.
The ground was covered with a huge canopy tied to the corners of the ground restricting the amount of sunlight entering inside to some extent. It had an empty center. There were many tents around the corners of the ground. I assumed thats where we would be asked to stay.
The size of the tent was big enough for one person to comfortably stay. There were also fans at places making it cool inside. There was a bigger tent towards the right which had an opening. Smoke exited from the opening and I guessed it was the kitchen tent. There were washrooms at one corner which I made note of mentally.
There was a tent that was smaller than the kitchen but larger than all the other tents. This one had a pinch of uniqueness to it. It was of a different color and shape. I wondered what the purpose of it was. This place was beautiful and I was already liking it in here. More people that I assumed were other people who registered like me, started strolling in staring at the place just as I was.
Hey! You can sit here if you want. I heard a familiar voice behind me. Matt shifted making a place for me on one of the concrete places that werent even meant to be seated on. I smiled and took the seat making sure to greet him. We spoke about how great this place felt and he told me how his friends told him about this place.
I told him my friends werent the ones with too much knowledge about these things. My mom was the one who asked me to do this.
We didnt talk much after that but I already liked the way I felt around him. He was a comfortable person to be with. I was entering with him. I wondered if it was him or someone else I'd leave the place with.
