That day, I finished my lunch with Shane still throwing glances at Steve. He gave me weird looks like mom gave me when she was angry or upset on me. There came a point when I looked up to see him but I couldn't trace him anymore.
He just disappeared or maybe I wasn't looking that hard. Shane was sweet and made me feel comfortable. It looked like he didn't have anything to hide. His silly jokes and pick up lines continued, making my cheeks flush.
He dropped me at my tent that afternoon after lunch and asked me to see him in the evening. I could give him five stars for his charm. I rested that afternoon before Amy, Austin's sister barged in my tent.
I had met her during lunch and spent quite some time with her apart from acknowledging Shane's presense and another presense that pierced through me like a needle. I told her to meet me in my tent. She was someone I felt like I could share things with. I know I didn't know her for long but her first impression vibe seemed really comfortable.
She had bangs that obscured her eyes. Her curls cascaded down her back. She had the most confused look on her face when she had seen Shane's hand on my waist. Not wanting to trouble her confused mind anymore I had decided to tell her everything.
We caught up with everything that happened today. She told me about a boy she liked from the group and how Austin sent daggers at him when he brought her pasta and also insisted on feeding her. She was softer and funnier by nature than she looked.
I told her about Steve and how he entered my tent to see me in that.. state. I told her how I met Shane and how he's being so overly sweet and also about why I wasn't seen much with Matt.
"But why would he behave so creepy only in front of Shane? He seems so sweet otherwise" Amy pointed out when I told her what happened when I went to take just extra salad. Yeah I went only for that right? Not to speak to Steve!
"I have no idea! He just seems weird around Shane" "I bet he's jealous!" she claimed making me swat my hand around her gesturing her to shut up. He would need to like me to be jealous and he didn't show any signs of that. I decided to change the topic and we spoke about her ex and a few discussions about Austin and their sibling life together. I wished Kaden was my age. Having a sibling of the same age could be so fascinating.
The entire evening passed by chatting with Amy and laughing our guts out. I missed having a friend like this to hang around with. Yes there was Diana, but we never spent too much time outside work.
Amy brought me food from the table during dinner and returned with a grinning Austin by her side. We ate in my tent together. Though Shane had asked me to meet him, I didn't feel like it now. Also, I didn't want Steve's weird stares and the unwanted glares he threw at Shane.
Austin told me he met Shane who asked him about me. Other than drooling over him, Austin had replied saying I wasn't feeling very well and was resting. Amy and Austin left my tent late that night and it took me a few minutes after that to drift off to sleep.

The next morning, I didn't feel that lazy or tired anymore. I wanted to go out and talk to everyone. 'Talk to a few I knew'. I reframed that for myself. I wore a loose plain black crop top and paired them with light blue jeans. Putting on some make up and striking a smile on my face I walked out of my tent.
Breakfast was over and I'd been with Amy and the boy she talked about. He was a great guy and though she seemed very cautious around him, she looked happy. Austin hadn't approved of him yet but Amy didn't bother. She said her brother was like that sometimes.
The Master and Mistress had breakfast with us today and spoke about how they looked forward to see someone from the group in a relationship.
They informed us that they would have a session in some time and we could relax until then. I found Matt on the ground and decided to go and speak to him. I spent some time conversing with him about the girl I saw him with. He told me how he was attracted to her and that they were on great terms since then. He even introduced me to her when she arrived and I took my clue to leave them alone.
Walking away, I was still searching for someone I could spend time with, possibly sweet little Shane. My eyes swept across the ground but I couldn't really find him anywhere. Just when I thought I'd spotted Shane a few distances away, I felt a tight grip on my arm.
A strong force pulled me next to one of the tents. My eyes closed shut at the sudden movement and I was ready to scream as my reflex. But just before I could break some eardrums, the force that pulled me gripped my face and clamped his hand on my mouth shutting it. I opened my eyes slowly and continued my attempt of wriggling out of his hold but when I saw what was in front of me, my body froze.
Eyes as grey as the sky before a storm, stared into my own, an unknown expression in them. Steve's strong smell of after shower entered my nostrils making my mind blank. I couldn't really tell what his eyes held. They looked angry? Or sad? Or even frustrated.
I stared into his eyes trying to tell the story behind them. They were like a puzzle. One which had a missing piece and couldn't be completed. My breathing that had quickened from the struggle, now took a normal pace. I felt safe.
We stared at each other like that for too long. My senses needed the alarm clock that rang on my bedside table to bring me back, unless the place where I was lost decided to find itself. "Don't look at me like that" his rusty voice whispered hardly opening his mouth.
That made it worse for me. My eyes travelled to his lips only to see how he managed to speak without moving them.. I swear! But he thought otherwise. "No! Look up!" he scowled trying to find the right words.
I had to shake my head to get back into my senses. When my brain was finally functioning again, my eyes widened. He had forcefully pulled me here and I was under his grip right now. It wasn't a romantic moment rather a case of manhandling. I felt a sting near my arm and that's when I knew it was slightly hurt.
I was ready to burst out on him. I was ready to scream in protest or push him using my hands with all the force I possessed though I doubted he would even bulge. But before I could do anything, his lips parted, warm breath touching my lips. He took a sharp breath giving me goosebumps.
"Cal, be away from Shane" he warned.--------------
Steve is loosing it and Cali's getting goosebumps!
