After school came that same day. Chelsea was so overjoyed at the thought of what was going to happen tonight, she almost started skipping across the hallways. Tonight, she was going to practice cuddling with Olivia!
Chelsea was surprised that Olivia would be so adamant about doing it today. If anything, she expected it to be next week, but today? She must have really felt determined to kill this 'discomfort' she had.
After Chelsea was done trotting out the front doors of the school, she started thinking more about it. Olivia was adamant about a lot of things. She could guess that getting to the current position she's in now with the volleyball team, wasn't an easy task. In order to stay in it, she must constantly have to be at the top of her game. It had to be stressful for her, right? It must have been... But was she really showing it with her friends?
Now that she thought of it- did she really know Olivia?
She began to realize she didn't really know much about Olivia to begin with. Only surface-level things. Underneath all of that.. She could be an entirely different person than she lets on... Just like with Ashley, was there more to learn?
Or she could be just thinking too deeply into things.
Yeah, that was it. Ashley's whole 'becoming flustered' bit really started getting into her head, and made her think that 'people have shells' or masks or whatever, that didn't make too much sense.
Thinking too deeply about things like this wasn't worth the trouble at all.
Suddenly, Chelsea's ringtone rang loudly. It was probably Dustin, Chelsea thought. He was probably going to say something obnoxious. She pulled out her phone, and the moment she heard the voice on the other end, she gasped.
And started beaming.
"..Hello?" Olivia said.
"H-Hi Olivia!" Chelsea cried. "M-My mom's coming to pick me up, If...If you want You can-"
"Yeah... about that.." Olivia sounded sad on the other end. Chelsea's expression shifted to one of worry the moment she caught on. She immediately turned and walked back into the school, fully ready to make a mad dash all the way to the gym.
"...What- What's up?" Chelsea asked, already in the hallway. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah- I'm fine... I uh, I'm gonna... call off this meet-up. I...I have to focus on...volleyball."
"Olivia- What- You... Are you okay?"
"I'm fine... I just... I didn't do well at all again today."
"Do you want to talk? I'm here for you."
"No. No- I'm fine. Don't worry about it, okay? I don't want you running in here again, either."
"O-Olivia..I-... let me come over there." Chelsea said.
"Sorry, Chel. I can't do that. I'll talk to you tomorrow." Olivia turned off the phone. Chelsea's eyes widened the instant it happened. She pulled her phone to her face and attempted calling her again.
No response.
Again.
No response.
Again.
"Chelsea..." Olivia came back on. "I already told you to stop, okay?"
"No, I can't stop!" You're worrying-"
"Chel- I told you to stop, so stop."
"Olivia, I-.."
"Just leave me alone, okay?!"
