The music room was always a good place for Chelsea to feel creative. No matter what, she always came here after school whenever she had a song in mind. With her pen and paper in hand, she wrote her song on top of the piano as she sat in front of it. While she wrote the song she had in mind, the one about Olivia, she felt a bit absent-minded. Maybe it was the fatigue getting to her, but she started to think about how everyone else was doing. She wanted to rush, but there was no need- there were 2 days left, followed by a weekend until the talent show. She had plenty of time. Yet that nagging feeling of 'she had to do it and get it over with now!' kept ringing in her head.
And that counterintuitively contributed to her procrastination.
She'd already written a page worth of notes- and had spent most of the day today and yesterday thinking about it. A break was necessary at this point. She sighed as she relaxed, playing carelessly on the piano, playing whatever she wanted. It was time to think about other things, like Ashley, for instance.
Speaking of Ashley, the fact that she and Dustin became friends earlier this morning made her smile. The amount of awkwardness the two must have had while talking may have been too catastrophic for her to watch. So she was thankful that it happened while she wasn't there. The second-hand embarrassment she'd have would be overwhelming.
Where was Olivia today, Chelsea pondered. She was thankful that she didn't stop by while she and Ashley had that talk. It would have been abysmal.
A lot of things could have went wrong today, Chelsea thought. It was nice to just sit back and count her blessings. She began imagining Olivia walking in when Chelsea said "I'm going to confess to her." She could see it now. Olivia would be pestering her all day about it.
'Who likes you, who likes you?' She'd ask.
'You, I like you.' Chelsea replied in her mind. Then the redhead imagined She and Olivia proclaiming their love for each other and living happily ever after.
She could only dream of an ending like that, but it was a nice dream nonetheless. It made her laugh a bit, because Olivia just being Olivia was cute to her. Pestering her on and on about 'who likes you, who likes you', while being blissfully unaware... sounds like something you'd think of in a romance book.
Though that fantasy world was somewhere she wanted to live in, she wanted to live in a timeline where Olivia somehow magically liked her back. Where they'd wake up in the same bed together and sleep in the same bed together, where they'd struggle together and laugh together. She'd give anything for that. But of course she coudln't just throw herself into this dream no matter how hard she tried.
For it was just that: A dream. A dream that would never become reality. Chelsea lowered her head. Though, she thought, that fantasy she just had could work for the song she was writ-
No! This was supposed to be a break time thing! No thinking about work, she thought. She sighed deeply.
"CHEEELSEAAAAAAAAAA!" The moment Olivia's voice rang across the music room, Chelsea screamed and stashed her song poem faster than lightning. By the time she turned her head. Olivia was already running toward her with her arms extended. Olivia hugged her with so much force Chelsea almost was pushed into the piano.
"CHEEELL!" Olivia shouted. She spoke with an exaggerated crying-tone. "I missed you so much! It's been so loooong!" Olivia rubbed her head against Chelsea's back.
"O-Olivia, it's only been a few hours-"
"A FEW HOURS TOO LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!"
Chelsea sighed deeply. She couldn't help but smile at the thought of Olivia looking forward to talking to her like that- she was so happy she laughed a bit.
