John B walks out of his room and into JJ's, to see him on top of a girl.

"Dude! Come on, man. Get outta here," JJ scolds as John B shuts the door, rolling his eyes.

"Morning, Kie" John B waves at Kie, sprawled out on the couch.

"Morning" she quietly replies.

"No 'good morning' for me?" Lio inquires from the kitchen, tossing John B a beer as he walks over to the wall and hangs up a picture of his dad and mom.

"Good morning to you, you butthurt princess," JB says sarcastically.

"Uncle T," JB says clinking a beer bottle to the picture frame.

"That's Uncle T. Since dad's vanished he's supposedly my legal guardian. At the moment, he's in Mississippi, building houses. Which means it's just me right now, on my own, hanging out with my friends.

"Hey," he says to Pope.

"Oy," Pope mutters as he and JB do their handshake.

Three months after my dad was missing, he was officially presumed dead. I refused to sign the papers. Until I see a body, I'm not giving up.

Lioana grabs the keys to her beat-up Jeep and a Dr. Pepper, and hops in. She starts her car and turns up the volume on her radio.

"Hurricane Agatha continues its steady march towards Kildare Island on the Outer Banks of North Carolina..."

Lio pauses and looks at the radio. She opens her car door and runs across the yard to the shed where they keep their surfboards. Lio grabs her surfboard and runs back to her car, throwing her bag and surfboard in the back.

"It's a double overhead out there, bro!" Pope analyzes.

"Double overhead?" John B looks at Pope as they come to a stop, and look out at the rolling seas.

"Those aren't surfable waves, bro."

"Says who?" Lio says running up behind the boys.

"Hey, there she is! I was wondering if you'd show up," John B says high-fiving her.

"Let's go boys!" Lio hollers as she runs towards the crashing waves and to the tropical storm.

"Whoo!" JB yells as he paddles through the rough water.
