"Lio," JJ shakes her body burritoed in a blanket.

Lioana groans into her pillow before burying herself under more covers.

"You gotta get up, it's almost seven."

After Lio and JJ had gotten ready, they both hopped into her Jeep.

"I don't want to go to this," Lio says, looking at JJ.

"I know, but you have to," JJ replies, his eyes lasered on the road.

"J, you don't get it-"

"I don't get it? I don't even know who my mom is. I don't really have a dad, and when he's not drunk or high, he's still abusive."

"My dad took off and came back just to murder my mom. And then out of nowhere he shows up again."

There was an uncomfortable silence that fell between the two. JJ knew that he shouldn't be making her go, but it's her father's funeral. She has to.

"It's not the funeral I'm not wanting to be at, it's the fact that I have to same some fake ass shit about him."

"I'll go up there with you, okay?" JJ reaches over, resting his hand on her thigh.

Lio nods and smiles slightly, but it fades quickly. She spins the rings on her fingers until JJ grabs her hand for her to hold.

The first hour of the memorial was distant family greeting Lio, and giving their condolences.

"Oh dear heavens, you've grown!" A voice cheers.

"Hi, Aunt Cassy," Lio smiles, being dragged into a rather suffocating hug.

"Oh, who is this fine young man?" She winks at JJ, elbowing Lio.

"This is my boyfriend, JJ. JJ, this is my mom's sister, Cassy," Lio introduces.

"Nice to meet you, ma'am," JJ smiles, firmly shaking her hand.

"He's a keeper, sweetheart," Cassy whispers before she goes off to find the alcohol.

"I need Fireball," Lio groans, beginning to walk after her aunt.

"Um, no. You aren't drinking. It's nine o'clock in the morning, Lio," JJ grabs her wrist.

"JJ-"

"I don't want to hear it. I don't need you drunk by eleven."

She sends him a glare before she's greeted again.

"Susan, I didn't think you'd come," Lio hugs the sheriff.

"Well, you are legally my daughter. And I know this probably isn't the place you'd prefer to be right now."

"Hmm funny, how'd you know?"

"I might have to leave early, though. Just letting you know."
