It was surprisingly easier to maneuver around without being spotted. On our way there, I didn't see anyone roaming the hallways. Thank goodness. Eri rode on my back as she seeks out the directions.
To be completely honest, I was scared shitless. But what's the point of trying to escape if I didn't make some risk.
Eri was a small child, and lightweight so it wasn't all of a struggled for her to stay on. I'm strong. I'll pull through, I told myself.
"There it is. It's that way, over there." She pointed towards the left to an open room door.
I slowly and carefully peeked inside. No one was in the small room. I looked around cautiously one more time before going in and shutting the door, locking it.
The room was dark. Even though it was small, it had a lot of electricity, gadgets and testing beakers, Like some kind of lab. Sat in the middle of the room was a strapping chair. A leather seat with belt like strappings hung from it. It reminded me of something out of a horror movie. The chilling sight sent shivers down my spine

"Eri is this... the scary room?"
"Uh hm. I hate it here." She mumbles.
When I looked at the wall I saw why Eri said we could escape here. There was a window! But so high up. I'd have get some things to support me from below.

I locate a table from the corner of the room. I go over to it and start to pull it away from the wall towards where the window is. Then I hear a loud thud and glass shatter.
I winced at the loud noise it made and silently prayed that no one from outside heard. I continued to haul the table.
Once that was done, I began to stack some boxes and crates on top of one another. First I need to test out if it was safe to climb. I steadily began ease my way up. I could perfectly reach the window! My heart pounded furiously with a sense of accomplishment. As I was about to open it my heart dropped at the sound-
"Aaahhhh!"
I turned around to see Overhual with chronostasis, who had a gun drawn to Eri's head as he buckled her an arm lock.
My entire world froze as my eyes bulged open in sheer fear.
"Now wasn't that a close one. Almost escaped there. Good thing 'ole chrono here was quick to think."
In disbelief, I stared at overhual , then Eri who was at gunpoint quietly sobbing silent tears.
"I'm pretty sure you already know the situation your In Y/N. So why don't you come on down and Eri will be just fine."
The air suddenly grew freezing, or was that just my cold sweat. If my bladder was filled right now I'd piss myself.
I was so close... SO CLOSE! How did he-?!
I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and slowly began to climb my way down. Chrono released Eri and she collapsed to the floor letting out a distressed sob. Don't cry Y/N. Don't show them your tears! Don't cry Don't cry Don't cry!
Overhaul smiles behind his mask, knowing he's won again.
"Good girl."
Chronostasis walked to the other side of the room and looked down at some mess on the floor. What ever he had seen caused him to gasp dramatically.
"Boss! We've got a problem here." He claimed bending down to a pile of broken shards of glass.
At first overhaul seemed unbothered to the situation, but his entire mood changed once he saw what it was.
"It's the quirk canceling bullets. They're broken-"
"What the hell?! Chronostasis what happened to the pods?!!" He yelled getting on he's knees and picking through the mess on the floor. He was scavenging for any survivors but no luck. Red liquid spilled from inside the bullets, staining the floor.
Not only was I surprised by overhauls sudden outburst, but so was chrono, who flinched back every time he yelled.
"This was my master piece! My one chance at bringing this organization up in the world but now its ruined! WHO DID THIS?!"
He turned to meet my eyes, while I was on the floor cradling Eri.
He growled. "You bitch!"
Before I could comprehend why he was so upset, Overhual charged, grabbing me by the shirt and gripping me bye the collar.
"DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT TOOK ME ME TO CREAT THOSE THINGS?"
I wasn't even trying to figure out what he was talking about at this point. I was too busy trying to untangle myself from his fingers. I began clawing at them with my hands. He was so close to me, his hands gripped so tightly compacted over my shirt.
His glare was livid, Fueled with rage and hate. I was scared of him before but never like this. I began to think about how Reaz left the world by these same hands. I knew I'd possibly end up like him.
In that moment I knew I would die today.
"You've been nothing but trouble since day one. I tried to make it work by tolerating your bad behavior, but you just can't be obedient. Your not even serving your purpose as to why I've brought you here in the first place! So you minus well perish you useless uncouth-"
"Would a child make up for it, boss?" Chronostasis cut in.
"Excuse me?"
"I'm sure she is indeed with child right now. The bullets may be fragmented but you got what you longed for the most. An heir. We can replace the pods. It will be hard, but having your own child is much more qualitative
"Y/N is... pregnant?"
Im what now?
Overhaul's eyes softened with ease upon hearing the news. He loosened his grip on my collar as I slid to the floor, breathing hard as I tried to catch my breath.
I was so afraid, my life flashed before my eyes and I was drawn back into the reality of a nightmare.
"If your so true to your word chrono, I'll except it. But for her sake she better be." He said, adjusting his gloves and collar. "These actions cant go unpunished. Take her down to the basement hall." He then casually exits the room in the calmest manner.
Letting out a long sigh, chronostasis turned his attention to me. "Be glad I saved your ass. And you better hope your actually knocked up or else your in BIG trouble girly."
As I lay sprawled over the floor, Eri crying over me, I noticed my cheeks where mildly wet with my own tears.
I cried. I'm weak.
——————— A/n Fun fact about this chapter!
At first I was going to have Overhual strangle Y/N by the throat, but then I thought it was a little too extreme.
Not only that. There was a part of Overhual that wouldn't allow himself to do that to Y/N. If Overhual is going to have some sort of character development then his strangulation days stop here.
Basically he wouldn't strangle Y/N because he had a soft spot for em.
