A ping is heard within the elevator and the doors opened with Kion stepping out with a tired huff as he looked around the corridors of the floor he is in. After the whole fiasco, it was chaos up there, everyone else manage to calm down and just rest peacefully.

Him, however, had a different thought in mind. That is why he checked every floor of the ship, which took a lot longer, and asked every crew in the floors he visit until it lead him to where he is. Walking around, he looked at the labels of each door at his left until he stopped at the one he is looking for:

Music Chambers

It would be surprising for the others to know that Kion, a young lion who lived in the savannah, can actually read. Many may think this is nonsense, but it’s true. It was thanks to his previous past as a cub, as well as a few more teachings during his quality time with Nathan that night they reunited, that he can now understand the words and numbers. Well, most of them.

Behind the door, he could hear a sweet tune from inside. Recognizing this, he smiled as he knocked on the door. The tune stopped, replacing with a voice behind the door.

   “Who is it?”

“Its me,” Kion said from the other side.

Soon, the doors slid open by itself and Kion entered, looking around in wonder and curiosity. The chamber is a very wide, oval room. The cold, smooth, wooden floor gave him a sensing temptation to sink his claws, but he resisted. Around the room are various instruments hanging on the walls while the heavier and larger ones are arranged around the room, all neatly ordered by kinds.

Sitting on one of the foldable chairs is Nathan who is adjusting his guitar with his back facing the young lion before looking over his shoulder.

“You look like you just came back from trying to put seven, crazy baboons to sleep,” Nathan said along with a snort before turning back his attention to his tuning.

“Do you know how many ins and outs at the elevator I just did just to find you,” Kion said, rolling his eyes at the human as he approached him until he sat down right beside him.

He nodded his head side to side as he listened to the young man’s strumming and hummed a tune of his own. The music has a bit of a bouncy yet soft mix in it with a sense of motivation and encouragement and a hint of unison.

After a while, Kion decided to make a few lyrics:

“We’re in this together, we’re unstoppable,
We’re in this together, nothing’s impossible,

Nathan followed and, as if he knew what comes next, sang along with him:

   “We’ll show them our power,

   Our might,

   Tutatawala nuru…

There is a soft strum and a momentary pause before finishing the song:

   “We’ll reignite the light!

With a drop, they ended the song and let out a full-hearted laugh for a moment.

“You never seemed to lose your touch,” Kion said, sighing longingly. “I really miss this,”

Nathan smiled before remembering the discussion they had back at the top with Bunga.

   “Hey, Kion,”

The young lion looked at him curiously. “Hmm?”

“You know Kupatana is tomorrow, right?” he pointed.

Kion tilted his head as he thinks before straightening in conclusion and gasped, his eyes gleaming in surprise due to one thing. Of all the occasions, this is actually the same time as they met when they were kids.

“Its that time already?” Kion asked, a smile quirked in his muzzle as he shook his head in disbelief. “I can’t believe Kupatana is one day away,”

Nathan just shrugged his shoulders and returned to playing the guitar. Though in his eyes, it is evident that he is looking forward to celebrating Kupatana once again. It was then the speakers come to life, gathering their attention.

   “This is Ronin speaking,—

“—I’d like to announce that we are now a few minutes from our destination so please head to the lower levels as we are now going to be landing in a moment,” Ronin said through the intercom before typing some codes as the vast, bird’s eye-view of the massive savannah is now before them.
