Hamu is in really big trouble.
Despite passing over and under fallen logs, maneuvering through the trees and bushes, his hunter still manages to keep up on him. All his friends are nowhere to be found, thinking they were all caught by either this entity or the rest of its companions. He is all alone now, with the beast behind his tail and no point of shouting for help. The only thing he could do is the only option he can do.
Run and never look back…
He heard rustling to his right and turned to see with eyes widen in terror. With every tree passing by, the young zebra could see the flash of brown fur of his seeker as the dim light of the hindered sun made it more impossible to make out in his point of view. Upon passing a large tree that is between them, the creature vanished out of sight.
It was then Hamu stopped in his tracks, standing frozen as he frantically looked around where he is. His breathing is shaky and heavy in fear as he can only see trees around him, his legs were in the same state. He didn’t know where to go as they might strike him from the shadows this hunter lurks within, trapping him from every angle. They were waiting for the right moment to strike him, end him, and finish this little game of theirs.
Hamu is starting to feel a lot anxious than normal as he began to back away to the bushes behind him. All seemed to be calm and quiet when…
“Did you really think you can get away from me?”
The unexpected voice behind the young zebra made him scream and rear away in fright, tripping himself to the ground in the process. Laying to his side, he groaned as he slowly raised his head before gasping when his eyes laid on the very being he is running away from. His hunter cackled evilly as they approach the scrambling foal who is backing away effortlessly.
Now fully revealed themselves in the open, he fully see the creeping hunter is a small jackal pup. Its brown pelt and black tuft is a tad messed during its chase but still fine, their wicked smile showing numbers of sharp teeth, its claws digging onto the soil in every menacing step, and their blue eyes glinting dangerously at him.
Hamu knew him as he met him long ago, knew him as the missing Outlander.
It is none other than Dogo himself.
“Well, well, look what we have here,” the jackal pup said sinisterly.
“D-Dogo, you d-don’t have to do this,” Hamu pleaded, trying back as much as he can but it was pointless.
“Sorry Hamu, but you cannot change my mind in this,” Dogo said, his expression growing darker as he got closer and closer.
Hamu continues to back away until his back bumped in to a tree, looking around to realize one fatal conclusion. He’s trapped.
Dogo’s smile grew wider as a small chuckle came out of him as he edge closer to the cornered foal. “Nowhere to run…”
Hamu tried to find something, anything, to get out of this situation as Dogo’s voice draws nearer.
“Nowhere to escape….”
Hamu hadn’t notice how close his hunter was until he turned his head to see the pup’s sinister face inches away directly in front of him, stiffing in fear upon the sight of his menacing smile. Slowly, Dogo raised one paw up in the air as Hamu’s wide, horrified eyes could only watch. With a devilish grin, Dogo said two words that concludes his instincts.
“Game….over,”
He is done for.
“Ah! There you two are,”
