People always said that they've been together for an eternity. And from time to time it felt like that. Maybe it already was and Taehyung just had been too caught up to count the days. To count how long they've known and loved each other. It must have been at least 3 years. Perhaps longer, but certainly not briefer. That's when they had met each other. Still, it was pretty embarrassing to tell that they got each other to know because Taehyung had been drunk in his first year of university and had clung on a stranger - apparently Jeongguk. And because he had puked on the younger's shirt they exchanged numbers. Well. Their meeting was messy and surely not the beginning of a cheesy love story this relationship became in the end but Taehyung wasn't the one to complain (he always laughed while telling the story).
Jimin has been the one that had quitted teasing between Jeongguk and Taehyung since they both had been just too simple-minded to get that they were fucking craving for one another. That's at least 3 years ago. Maybe more. But in the end, it probably didn't matter. There was no one asking for the exact date Taehyung had realized that he had fallen in love with Jeongguk. Hard and faster than expected - in light of the fact that he hadn't intended on falling anyway. And Taehyung was entirely sure Jeongguk also wouldn't ask since he was still there. Since they shared their bed and their mornings. Their laughter and their tears and this was everything that mattered. Back then.
They were lying on their bed. The blankets felt too hot, the air felt too hot and their heavy breathing broke through the silence that had settled over them. Taehyung felt Jeongguk's arm around his waist, his breath in his neck and he thought that he really loved lying like this. The night was long gone from the point you would call it young but none of them cared. Also, they didn't care about the fact that they both would be super tired tomorrow while their lectures.
Taehyung found comfort in the silence that should have been everything but comforting. Silence has never been. Especially the kind of silences he had been experiencing the past weeks. The silences filled with thoughts he shouldn't think and the craving for things he shouldn't crave for. But this silence was different. The silences after the last noise of one of them shifting had been something Taehyung always had appreciated. He didn't need Jeongguk to say anything and neither did Jeongguk. They spent those silences wrapped in blankets and each other's warmth and it's been a while since Taehyung had found them comforting. And as they lied there Taehyung thought that they could go through this together. Somehow. That his craving and his thoughts wouldn't change a thing. Oh little did he know - maybe he did - that everything would change only a few hours later.
Taehyung met up with Jimin, three weeks after the incident at the café. Jimin had been busy the past weeks, caught up in versity and life, so they hugged tightly and smiled widely when they caught sight of one another. Taehyung examined his best friend, his sharp jaw and wondered when it became so distinctive. "Did you slim, Jiminie, or are you just getting old", he asked teasingly and pinched the elder's cheeks. "I'm only a few months older than you", Jimin replied frowning but giggled nevertheless. Taehyung mugged playfully shocked: "Does that mean I'll look the same in a few months?" Jimin just shook his head and laughed at Taehyung.
It was great seeing Jimin again and Taehyung had missed the ease that came with Jimin's presence. They had known each other for so long that they didn't need to think about their words, that they didn't need to think about their actions. Because they knew each other and had this kind of feeling you developed with the time.
They were in the middle of eating - Taehyung was eating, Jimin drank Coke Zero - when Taehyung's phone vibrated. "Probably Jeongguk", he mumbled with his mouth full and Jimin giggled slightly while he tried to swallow the sip of Coke he'd just taken. Taehyung grabbed for his phone and looked at the light display, saw the name and tried to hide his surprise.
