The Birthday Surprise

~Ryleigh's P.O.V.~

My oncologist came in this morning and told Lincoln and I the results of the chemo over the last few days. It didn't work as much as we thought or hoped it would. Basically I can sulk about my chemo not working or I can keep my spirits up by preparing for my birthday. I choose the latter. Lincoln is really upset that my parents haven't been here in weeks to see either one of us but I'm now used to them not being here even though I could really use my parents in this situation. Good thing I have the absolute best big twin brother ever to stay here with me. I am definitely grateful and thankful for him! More bad news. Grace moved to California.

~Lincoln's P.O.V.~

Once again, my parents didn't show up when Ryleigh had asked them to be here for her. Them not showing up when I ask is one thing but when she asks them to come and they don't it really pushes my big brother buttons. Not only is she their daughter and they are supossed to be there for her anytime, she has cancer. At least she knows she has me. And that Hunter kid she likes.

~Hunter's P.O.V.~

I am so excited to see Ryleigh today and to learn her chemo results. It is rather strange hanging around someone with cancer because I've never experienced it before. I honestly really like her even though there is a slight possibility that she could die. I have to get her something for her birthday in 2 days. I hope her mom and dad will be okay with me being there and don't think I'm intruding on her big day. Maybe I should get Lincoln something too? That could earn me some brownie points and could even possibly allow me to hang out with Ryleigh even more. I'm definitely going to take this opportunity.

~Ryleigh's P.O.V.~

"Lincoln!" I yell from my very uncomfortable hospital bed.

"What?!" He says, running from the bathroom.

"Wanna go get some Starbucks?"

"Sure. Let me finish getting ready. Also, never do that again unless you would like me to be admitted to to hospital for having a heart attack."

"You could join the hospital club." I say laughing.

"Not the least bit funny." He says, giving me a stern, scolding look.

"Sorry." I say, dropping my head. "Hurry up and get ready because just for being mean you get to drive me to Starbucks and buy it for me." I say as I stick my tongue out at him.

"Fine!"

~Lincoln's P.O.V.~

My parents called me while Ryleigh was still sleeping so I stepped out into the hallway. They had called Drake's manager and he agreed to come meet her and spend the day with her. I was psyched for her because I know it will be the best day of her life. We are doing an amazing job of keeping this a surprise. Ryleigh usually finds out what her gift is weeks before our birthday. My parents aren't going to be able to be here but they want me to record her reaction so they can see it. It will be priceless.

~Hunter's P.O.V.~

I went shopping for Ryleigh and Lincoln at the mall today and my first stop was Abercrombie & Fitch for Ryleigh. I got her 2 V-neck shirts and 3 pairs of jeans. Then I was on my way to Hollister. I got her a maxi dress and a jean jacket to go over it. I then had to go get shoes to go with her dress. I called her and asked her what size shoes she wore and she said a 7 1/2 so I got some pumps along with a pair of black converse for her jeans. Tomorrow I shop for Lincoln.

"Do you know if mom and dad are coming for our birthday?" I asked Lincoln on the way to Starbucks.
