Y/N's POV:

"Why do you need me, Kain?" "Just come with me, you can't refuse." He sighed as he walked in front of me to an unknown room, where he opened the door and let me walk through it. It was a dark room with closed curtains and broken junk everywhere I looked!

''Kain! Why is this such a mess?'' "It isn't mine; this is Takuma's treasure." "How is this junk a treasure?'' I looked around, not understanding one bit of it; everything was broken! "It doesn't matter; just sit there." I looked at where he pointed, at the side of his bed. I sat as he told me to and looked at what he was doing. opening different drawers looking for a little box, which he found and threw at me.

He opened it once he was in front of me and took out a bandage. "I am going to refresh it, okay?" I nodded and let him do his thing. He took the old one off of my skin, cleaned the two dots a little, and put a new one on it. "I also have this choker; that way, not a lot of people will notice." I looked at the thick, long, black ribbon with a gold detail hanging from it. "It's beautiful, Kain. Thank you so much, but please don't tie it too tight." He smiled while nodding and did as requested, making it hang a little.

Kaname's POV:

I was still annoyed about the fact that everyone ruined something important, but I had to act like nothing was wrong. "I wish you could help me with my ribbons," Ruka said while turning around and pulling her hair to one side, revealing the open back of her dress. It had a thick, white ribbon tied through it that had to be used as a corset.

I sighed; of course, she needed this stupid attention that wouldn't help her. I tied it as tight as possible, made a bow out of the loose ends, and nodded. "Thank you, Lord." She said this as she walked up to me, kissing my cheek and exposing her bare neck. "I won't drink from you, Ruka; stop trying," I now said coldly. ''But why not?! Why won't you accept my blood? You just drank Y/N's blood! She always gets what she wants!'' ''She doesn't get whatever she wants, Ruka. She didn't want to get bitten; she wanted the teacher dead, which she didn't get since I didn't let her kill her''. "Like she can kill someone with her mind!" "She can."
Before I knew it, Ruka looked behind me, taking her hand to my collar, and dragging me closer in less than a second. I stopped her before her lips ended on mine, so now our noses were touching.

I heard a breath being held in. I looked around and saw just a glimpse of Y/N before she ran away.

"Ruka, you have been expelled for a month and will not come outside of your room until you go to school again. You will be locked up, and food will be brought to your door." She looked at me, surprised that I could stop her and give her such a severe punishment.

I don't know why Y/N ran away, but she radiated so much sadness and confusion, which made me worry a lot.

Y/N's POV:

"Thank you, Kain, for cleaning the bandage." He nodded and walked to the little side table, where a little box and a glass filled with water were placed. He opened the little box and took a pill out, which he threw into the water, dissolving it. Now the water has turned red. "Kain, what is that?" I asked in confusion. "Blood tablets. Because we don't drink real blood and aren't supposed to, they give us these, they fake the sensation and taste of it, we are able to survive on them." I nodded. ''But why does Kaname have a whole room full of fridges with blood in them downstairs?'' He now looked up at me, not understanding a thing. Maybe he doesn't know about that room?

''I've never heard of a room full of blood in fridges, Y/N; that room is probably in one of Lord Kaname's rooms we aren't allowed to go in. Maybe he has that room in case the blood tablets run out.'' "I've never tasted one of those, but I always drink from there since Kaname offered it to me." I saw him give me a look when I didn't speak out loud, saying his title, but after not even a second, the look went to a smile like he realised something.

"If you want to taste it, you can." He now offered his drink to me. "Oh, I would actually love that!" I ran up to him and snatched the glass out of his hand. I took one sip, but before I could realise it, the whole thing was empty. I looked at it with big, red eyes. ''Sorry..'' I now looked down at the ground, and Kain just snickered. "It's okay; I suspect that you like it then?" He approached me, and took the glass out of my hands. I silently nodded, still feeling bad, and then it was quiet.

After a few seconds, I heard a voice in my head saying I had to go out of the room and look in the corridor. I didn't recognise the voice, but since I am way too curious, I did what was said.

I opened the door and looked where the voice came from to see Ruka and Kaname make out, holding each other tightly and touching each other everywhere. I didn't know what I felt, but it hurt me, and I don't know why. It felt like a dagger went through me, making me feel pain and almost fall to the ground. wanting to run away and never come back. So I did the only thing that my mind could think of.

I ran away to the only spot that was home—my home.
