A PARTY WAS EXACTLY the way I would have expected the students of West Ham to deal with the current situation. Instead of focusing on the bigger issue of their parents being missing, they focused on the issue of their parents being gone. No parents meant no rules, which meant that they were free to do pretty much whatever they wanted. Including having a party on the green in the middle of town.

Almost five minutes after arriving home, Blake and I had both received texts saying that there was going to be a party tonight. At first, I had not wanted to go at all, not feeling like partying was a great idea given the circumstances. However, after thinking it over, and text from Allie saying she was going, I decided that I would go as well. It might be a way to lighten spirits a little, and mine, as well as everyone's else's, needed a lot of that right now.

"Does this look okay?" I asked, walking out of my closet and to the full length mirror in the corner of the room. I had picked out a black sweater that had a loser neck so it showed of a little of my shoulders. I had paired it with a white bralette, a pair of ripped jeans, and a pair of black converse. It sounded ridiculous to be worried about how an outfit looked right now, but picking it out had helped me focus on something else. Even if it was just for a few minutes.

"I think it looks great. You look great." Blake responded from where he sat on the bed. I looked at him from the reflection in the mirror, smiling as I turned around. I walked over to him, leaning down to place a small kiss on his lips. I pulled away just a few centimeters, bitting my lip softly. "I think you look great too." I whispered, my cheeks flushing, before pulling away from him further. "You ready?" I asked, holding out both of my hands for him to take. He nodded, grabbing on to both of my hands and standing up from the bed.

"It's kind of weird." Blake spoke up, as we walked down the steps. "What is?" I asked him, after we we had reached the bottom. I walked over to the table by the door, grabbing my house keys that were laying on it and placing them in my pocket. "Just that I've never been in your house before until now. I guess I just always thought the first time I would be in your house would be to meet your parents." He said simply, my heart sinking in my chest. He had a point, I had thought the exact same thing at one time.

Giving him a sympathetic smile, I walked over to him, placing one of my hands on his cheek. "You'll meet them one day. I promise. As soon as they come back." I answered, feeling guilty that I hadn't introduced him to them sooner. Even though I had my reasons, at this moment, I wished I had introduced them to him. He nodded, leaning down to give me a kiss on the lips. "Enough with the sad stuff." He said, taking one of my hands in his own. "Let's go party."
