Chapter 6- Misjudged

A few hours later I was woken up by Valorie. "Your phone keeps ringing," she says. I picked up my phone and saw a few messages from Dustin. It's getting late. Will you come by or not? I got up and walked out. "Bad news. Finnley Walker has already been killed by someone so I don't get the money "said Valorie before I walked away. I arrived at Dustin's house. Bailee opened the door. I followed her into the spare room where Abby was. "I'm glad you're here," she said. "Would I ask Harlin to come over because he already knows everything?" I asked. "No you don't have to do that. I never liked Harlin but I don't want to hurt him "she said. I suspected she never liked him because Harlin was always the one who went to her and Abby never went to him. Bailee is with Abby and Dustin and I are sitting outside on the stairs outside his front door. "I heard the conversation between you and Abby. I think she has a crush on you "he said. I laughed because I knew it was not true. We were staring in front of us and we said nothing to each other. "Have we ever been friends?" I asked him. "I don't know. We only got along when Harlin wasn't there, "he said. Has Dustin been a friend of mine? "You were there every time I needed you," I said. Dustin smiled at me. "Friends do that right?" he said. I now knew I had more friends than I thought. I went home again.

The next day I doubted whether I would go to school with Harlin because the situation between us is strange. I decided to go to his house anyway. As always, Harlin was waiting for me at the door and we walked to school. "I have to tell you something. Abby told me she doesn't like you so maybe it's a good idea to continue with your life "I said. Harlin looked at me, but I couldn't tell whether he was angry or not. Out of nowhere I am pushed to the ground by Harlin. "I never liked you Caleb. We were only friends because I knew you will protect me at Faults someday, "he said. Harlin took a knife from his pocket and tried to stab me. I could still dodge it. I kicked him in the leg and he fell to the floor and he dropped his knife. I threw the knife into the water and then I ran off to school very hard. Harlin didn't follow me because he knew I'm faster. I arrived at school and I saw Dustin, Bailee and Abby. "Protect me from Harlin, He was just trying to kill me," I said. They promised to protect me. Harlin didn't go to school that day so that means he broke a rule. It turns out that Harlin has never been a friend, but Dustin has. Where could Harlin be?
