It was Sunday and I went to the barn to bring Abby food. She was very happy when I was there. "Good morning did you sleep enough?" I asked. "Yes, but my bed is a bit nicer," she said with a smile on her face. She was very hungry because all the food went in at once. "Have you broken any rules this year?" she asked. I had to tell her the truth. "Yes I broke him 1 rule this year" I said. I didn't tell Abby that Harlin got my name. "We have to go to school tomorrow because you can't break another rule," I said. She didn't want to go at first but she didn't want more people chasing her. I left the shed again after a while. I got a message from Harlin: Will you drop by if you have time? I went to Harlin's house. He was waiting for me at the front door.

"Have you heard from Abby because she doesn't respond to my messages," he asked. Her phone was still at her house so she couldn't text him back. "No I haven't heard from her," I said to him. We went for a walk through the city. "I'm not going to kill you because you're my best friend," he said. "That's good to hear and I'm leaving Abby alone too," I said. I was lying to my best friend but I had no choice. It was evening and I went home again. I was at home but my parents were not there, but Valorie was there. "Where's Mom and Dad?" I asked. "They're going to visit our Uncle and Auntie in City 17 for a few days. I called you but you didn't answer," she said. "Yes my phone is empty" I said. It will now be a little easier to hide Abby. In the middle of the night I went to the shed while Valorie was sleeping. I took some food from the kitchen and brought it to Abby. "Harlin is worried about you," I said. "I'll see Harlin at school tomorrow and I'll tell him my phone's broken," she said. We sat looking at the stars through the window and then we both fell asleep.
