Life, Love & A Whole Lot Of Heartbreak!

The Seasons

Summer came with the fun

Of finding "the one"

But my joy was short-lived

For autumn came, with tears to give

Winter brought along a sad song

Separation! Desperation! Everything was wrong

But my heart hoped to sing

In the warmer winds of spring

But Spring was cold and smothering

One with no joy, just suffering

A dearth lay across the land

Burying everything in 3 feet of snow, 3 feet of sand

Will someone come to dig me out

Give me hope and a reason to shout

Clasp my hand and hoist me up

Give me a reason again to jump

Will I lie blinded with pain

Till I'm reborn again?

Or will I rest with my head held high

For the hour of my salvation is nigh?

Will no one listen to my cries?

Pleas from lips, cracked and dry

The warmth is all I seek

An embrace, soft and unique

But the cold is all I get

Waves of pain and regret

And somewhere inside, something dies

Choked with false promises and lies

Summer comes again, bringing with it a fire

A light shining bright, a torrent of ire

Burning everything in it's way

"I'll be fine", I finally say

And as the embers fade to ashes

I'll rise like a phoenix from the flames

With a fist held high, and eyes alight

Ready to stake my claim!
