2 Weeks later...
August POV
I couldn't process how fast this week was going. The last week I have been in bed for literally all of it with Darius and Stephen checking on me every minute, they always insisted one of them had to stay just in case something like what happened last time happens again. Sometimes I wake up and see Stephen reading his book silently in the dusty window seat.
I guess it's strange to say I like seeing Stephen sat there. It gave me a sense of safety whenever he's around me. I mean I know I shouldn't but sometimes I just glance at his broad shoulders backed tightly against the wall which he leaned on, with his shirt becoming tight around his chest. His jaw clenches and unclenches when I guess he reads an interesting part of the book but along with the movement of his dark eyes scanning the page, not losing focus, makes my heart quicken.

Stephen POV
I was glad she had fallen asleep, to see the light blue eyes of hers close and to not open for another few hours meant that she was getting rest. That's exactly what her body needs. She wakes up sometimes and she thinks I don't notice her looking at me for a few seconds before her eyes close again. At about one in the morning the moon shines directly through the window and casts its self on her pale skin, making her glow. It makes me smile to see her so deep in sleep but she isn't eighteen yet so I'll need to keep her safe till then.

A couple of days earlier...

"Morning August."

"Morning" the sleepy voice came from under the sheets she bundled herself in.

"I have good news..."

"What is the good news?" She was sat up facing me now.

"You can go back to being semi-normal now. BUT starting with small walks and progressing back to normal."

"Your serious?" She was smiling at me.

"I'm serious."

"Thank you so much Stephen, I really owe you for looking after me."

"Well you could do something for me, it would be good for you too."

"Okay, what is it."

"I know it's not very exciting but I do need to catch you up on everything that has been going on here whilst you were away, who has more power and who not to mess with. Also if you would like I can help you learn a lot more about what will happen to you when you turn into a vampire and what changes will happen. But to make it less boring we can do all this at my place and have dinner together after. What do you think? I promise it won't take long, I think maybe a day or less."

"I mean...it sounds so boring, but the dinner sounds good to me and you are right I do need to know more about what is going on and what will happen and if there is anyone who I would like to tell me all this boring stuff it's you."

She smiled at me. Why did she smile at me with those gorgeous blue eyes?

"... Okay then. We will have to wait until I think you are healed properly-"

"But why can't we just talk about it here in my room or when we go on the small walks you were talking about earlier because well, I don't really have anything else to do."

"Yeah good point. Okay I will start our history lessons soon then I guess."

I turned to leave. But she asked me another question and I can never resist answering her questions.

"Yeah. So how long will it take me to get better exactly?"

"Looking at how long you took to wake up alone and the fact that your human body is still working to make you better, I would say you will be fully healed in about... two weeks."

"Two weeks?"

"Two weeks. At most. I mean it could have been worse."

"Can I ask how exactly?"

"Well you could have been bitten by him."

She looked at me not understanding what I meant.

"You would have had to go through incredibly horrible pain and then wake up barley being able to move, but then your throat would burn, like the hell that waits for us, with the only taste for blood. Also with being newly created the pain would be worse as turning is a process your body prepared for but having it done forcefully is much much worse. Again being newly created you would be stronger then me so I wouldn't be able to contain you as you would over power me and you would probably run rampant on the town killing everyone. So I mean it could have been a tiny bit worse."

August POV
I couldn't help it. I burst out laughing. I was embarrassed at how I found it funny and he didn't mean to be. He was actually serious about everything he said and he had a harsh look on his face when he was talking about it. But then he just suddenly glowed back and said "so I mean it could have been a tiny bit worse." The change in personality was incredibly quick even for some drama queens at my old school. It was scary quick, but now all I could see was his harsh face turning into a small smile through the fogginess of my laughing tears that were now covering my eyes.

I hadn't laughed like this in ages. I could see him walking towards me with his now wide smile on his face, I hadn't heard his small laugh before. He stood in front of me. I felt him place his cold hands carefully on my jaw and with his thumb he wiped away my happy tears from my cheeks and the corner of my eyes so I could see him more clearly. He kept his hands on my jaw and kept stroking my cheek. His cold hands made me get goosebumps across my face and neck and his dark purple eyes looked down then back up. He smiled. My heart melted.

A/N - Hey, sorry this literally took months. Since I haven't been going to school I swear I've been doing more work than I normally would 😂 I hope you are all okay and safe. I made his chapter super long so you got more to read but hopefully I'll be posting every couple of weeks rather than months 😂👍 - AJ x
