Chapter 14

Stephen POV

I have to go.

What can I do to make sure she can contact me? The phone. I got the phone and wrote a note on a spare piece of paper I found in the top desk draw I wrote as neatly as I could:

"August,
I have to go to that meeting we talked about earlier. This phone is for you to call me with if you feel in danger or feel ill at any time (I know I've told you that but incase you forgot).This meeting is highly important as I haven't been told what it is about and that never happens often. There is only my mobile number on there so you cant make a mistake with calling the wrong person. I shouldn't be gone long as these meeting normally last for a night but as this is important I really cant tell you when I will be back. If you want to text me feel free too but I might reply a little late.

I'll be back soon,
Stephen"

I don't want to leave her. But I have to go now if I want to make the castle look presentable.

I got up to leave and looked at her soft features on her face. I was about to call Darius to come up but I didn't. I kept looking at her puffed up cheeks, they were the colour of the light pink roses outside her window. I took her hand and held it for a second and kneelt beside her. I stood up still holding her hand in mine and leant over and placed her hand by her side. I hovered over her face for a moment looking at her features the blackness of her eyelashes and eye brows but the paleness of her skin. I leant in closer and pressed my lips to her forehead and then gently moved away.

Darius POV
"Darius"
It was Stephen.
I looked into Stephens mind but something was blurry.
"Okay, so your going now then?"
"Yes I am leaving now. You have seen my thoughts so you know what to do if different scenarios happen?"
"Yes, don't worry Doc."
"Please don't call me that."
"Yeah it is a bit strange as you're a doctor for vampires and you only do it part time if someone gets hurt and that's not very often."
"I know that we don't get hurt often and you do realize that's why I have my other two doctorates?"
"Well yeah, I do now."
"Bye Darius, ill be back soon, a couple of days at worst but I cant imagine being to long."
"We can talk when you get back."

He nodded at me and he was gone.

Time skip forward a couple of hours...

August POV
The first thing I could see was light. A bright light shining down on my face from my window, Wait, this means its morning, but it was night just a second ago.
"Darius?"
"Why hello sleepy head, catch up on your sleeping ?"
"Yeah I guess so. How long have I been asleep for? When did Stephen go? When will he back?-"
"Woah sis calm down. You still need to breathe you know."
I sat breathing calmly in and out instructed by Darius's hand movements.
"There you see, all better. Now let me answer your questions. You have been asleep for around 4 hours which makes it 6:21 AM, Stephen left you a note look on that new phone he got you, so I'm sure that will answer any questions you have."

I looked over my shoulder to my petite brown oak side table that stands next to my bed, and saw the letter and the new phone box. I opened the letter and read Stephens curly writing which did answer all the questions I had. He left when I was asleep and he wasn't sure when he would be back, but by the sounds of it he will be gone for a night or little under a full day, worst it's a couple of days. A COUPLE OF DAYS.


A/N - I hope it wasn't to bad as compared to my other chapters its quite short. Also I added Flower by Johnny S because I think he is an amazing artist he has just released a new song called pink lemonade it's really good to vibe to on a summers day. I mean i personally dislike summer a lot, I love winter but you guys know what I mean. Still thanks for reading - AJ x
