Back to present time...

Stephen POV
I kept my hand stroking her cheek. I felt her heart quicken. I smiled slightly. I looked into her eyes and she looked back, before I even knew what I was doing my arms had snaked around her waist and her arms were around my neck with her hands slightly gripping my hair. I knew what we were doing and it was risky but she knew this as well. If she wanted this to stop she would have said something but when her grip became stronger I knew she wanted this too. I tightened my grip carefully, trying not to lose control, around her waist and lowered my head to reach my lips to hers, I felt the texture of her cola lip balm and I could taste the mint flavour of her tooth paste that covered her teeth and I was surprised when she-

"Stephen!"

"Yes?"

"Are you okay?"

"Sorry August I was just thinking about something."

"Okay... Well I thought you were dead or something, even though I'm not sure how that works (She laughed awkwardly). You were just looking at the wall with your eyes wide open then they started to close. I was worried."

"Oh. I'm fine, don't worry. I need to monitor how well you are doing sleep wise but that seems to be more than okay."

"Yeah. I sleep a lot but then I wake up and talk a lot so it works perfectly."

We both were laughing. She always does this, she always makes me smile even when I'm not in the mood. What is happening to me! I need to toughen up and prepare myself for the council meeting tomorrow. Damn, that reminds me...

"August I nearly forgot, tomorrow I am at my home as a council meeting is being held and I have been asked to host and attend, so As I'm sure you'll understand I have to go."

"So I won't see you tomorrow at all?"

"No."

"Okay, but who will be looking after me tomorrow then if your gone all day?"

"Darius."

"That's not to bad then."

"Yeah your just stuck with a vampire who can read all your thoughts, so you can't hide anything from him. Also he is your brother which means he will be teasing you the whole time. I hope you have fun dealing with that."

She was gigggling. WAIT, did I just make her giggle?!

"Thank you for the reminder."

"No problem."

Now we are laughing together. How does she always make me laugh?!

August POV
Without even trying he is so funny. Honestly he brightens my day.

"August I'm going to give you a phone with one number on it, it's mine. If you suddenly don't feel safe or you feel ill either call me yourself or get Darius to do it. But don't panic you are fine, you are perfect but it's just in case."

"Okay,Stephen?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm really sleepy."

"Oh, I mean it is two am so you should get some sleep. Here let me carry you."

Stephen POV
She fell straight into my arms, just as I asked her to. She tilted herself backwards so I could catch her and my arm caught her waist just before she closed her eyes. I picked her up and carried her in my arms. I grabbed the grey fluffy blanket with my hand and in one swift movement I placed her on her bed, I puffed up her dark grey pillow her head is now resting on and tucked the grey blanket in so she didn't get cold. I sat down next to her in the old navy armchair that I positioned next to her bed.

I have to leave in half an hour but... I don't want to leave her.
