The men just stood there in a half semi-circle, faces agape, while Devon pointed his gun at them, I could tell that Devon wouldn't think twice about finishing them off. He was far too cool to be anything else.

I remained in the shadows of the building for some time, while the standoff began. I then crouched down low by the tractor, desperately trying to come up with a plan of action, I mean why there hell wasn't there a bar around when I need it. I could hardly get in the tractor and take him out that way, although it was a thought. In the end I rolled onto the ground like a ninja and began to commando crawl I'd seen soldiers doing when trying to get close to their target. It was hard going, especially with the mud and shit smearing onto my clothing but it would be worth it if I could get close enough.

'Devon is it? At least we know that you don't come from Somerset,' Isaac barbed. Gideon sniggered like a little schoolboy, which Devon didn't find amusing at all.

'Shut your mouth!' Devon growled out, aiming the gun at Isaac.

'Sorry about my mate, he's just like me, he has an intense dislike for people who hit women,' Gideon drawled out, spotting me as I commando crawled closer and closer.

I signalled to him to keep Devon talking as I couldn't see any other way of getting close to him. He got my message loud and clear not even giving me away by looking at me. Even Meg was being great, but then again she saw him as a threat.

'Cut the lip, or I shoot your dog,' Devon warned pointing the gun around at Meg, who bared her teeth with a deep growling that came deep within her body, loud enough to cover any noise I might make. Her hackles raised, as she saw that her master was being held at gun point. You and me to Meg I thought. I inched even closer and knowing I would have to edge to my feet to pounce.

'Shoot my dog, I'll shoot you,' Gideon informed, pulling up his shotgun and aiming it directly at Devon.

'Good are you?' Devon taunted Gideon, 'Man enough to shoot a human being at close range because I know I can.'

The tension rose as neither of the men looked set to backdown from the brewing fight. In fact, it seemed that the others had decided to join in and had their shotguns pointing at Devon.

'If you shoot Meg, or Gideon, we will shoot you,' Sam threatened, all business like, looking more like the policeman he used to be with very word he spoke. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't decide to pull a citizen's arrest.

'How do you know that you will be alive if you shoot me?' Devon bluffed, in his cocky way.

'Well you only came with two other people, who we took out and you must know that,' Sam grinned, looking like he was enjoying himself, well not the bit about being held under gun point.

'How do you know there aren't more people coming from a different angle?' Devon inquired. 'Do you take me for being bloody stupid?'

'You really want us to answer that one?' Isaac taunted him, as I slowly braced myself onto my knees first and then my feet, like a silent cat.

'Yeah, because I know you're bluffing,' Devon taunted back.

'Do you now? Gideon snorted out. 'Well we have something called lookouts all over the farm. You decided to play with the wrong community.'

I inched a bit closer, so I was now only a lunge away from Devon, knowing I would only have one chance of getting this right.

'Have to say, I'm impressed with your business dealings,' David injected, moving slightly so Devon would move with him, giving me a better shot at his back.

'Don't give me that shit,' Devon spat out.

'On contrary I am impressed with how you pulled it all off,' David praised him, like brushing his ego would make him relax, which it didn't.
