°•The Signs of Change•°

Uzui carried Zenitsu on his back running as fast as he could. He slammed open the doors and rushed to Tanjiro's room.

"Okay, I'm going to leave you with Tanjiro and get Shinobu. You can explain everything to Tanjiro right?"

Zenitsu's head rested against Tanjiro's chest. He could hear Tanjiro's heartbeat quicken.

"Zenitsu what happened? Why is Uzui getting Shinobu? Why are you so pale?"

"While you two were gone I was supposed to go to a village nearby that was supposidly having minor demon attacks. So Uzui followed a little far behind and didn't tell me. While i walked a head i met a beautiful woman walking by. I asked her if she'd seen any demons near by. She said no and asked if i wanted to know a way to get stronger and because im so far behind you and Inosuke I said yes. She asked me to show her my arm and so i did. She jabbed her nail into my arm and my luck its not a girl but a man! He said his name was Muzan. Uzui freaked out when I told him the guys name. Do you know why?"

Tanjiro felt a chill down his spine the second Zenitsu said the name Muzan. "Muzan you say? Well he was the first demon. He's the one who turned Nezuko into a demon. I think he did the same to you."

Zenitsu was terrified. He didn't want to be a demon forever. He wanted to be able to go into the sun, he wanted to be able to be with his friends all the time, he didn't want to hurt people and he'd rather be a person than a demon.

"It was my fault! All my fault! I trusted a pretty face and didn't even question anything! I should have thought it was strange that they wanted to see my arm! This all happened because I was to trusting! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!"

Tears started to form in the corners of Zenitsu's eyes. They started to fall. He started to shake. He regretted being so trusting, and being foolish enough to not question the so called "woman" he met.

Tanjiro placed his hand on Zenitsu's head and embraced him.

"You did nothing wrong. It was all Muzan's fault, okay? Calm down, Nezuko's fine and you'll be too! Let it out.

Zenitsu rested his head on Tanjiro's shoulder. Tears ran down his face like a river. He hugged Tanjiro tightly. Those words are what Zenitsu needed to hear.

"Thank you Tanjiro. You- you smell really nice..."

"I smell nice? Zenitsu are- go sit over there im going to go find Uzui and Shinobu. They're taking a long time... Ill be back!"

As Tanjiro was about to leave Zenitsu latched onto him. "Please... dont go... dont leave me alone. I couldn't bare it. Im scared and I want you to stay. So please dont go..."

Tanjiro turned around and gave Zenitsu a hug and walked back in the room.

"Okay... i won't go. I promise! But you should sleep. Nezuko does so maybe it will work for you?"

Tanjiro placed Zenitsu in the bed and tucked him in. He patted his head.

"Good. Im kinda tired but not really."

Zenitsu starts to shake. Tanjiro starts to worry and sits beside him.

"Whats wrong? Zenitsu are you okay?"

Zenitsu starts to cry once more and pushes Tanjiro away. Tanjiro was confused, that wasn't like him.

"Ze- Zenitsu?"

"Go get Shinobu! Go get someone! Please, I- I don't-"

Tanjiro walks towards Zenitsu and looks at his face. As Zenitsu was crying he noticed he had fangs. He didn't have those earlier...

"Zenitsu... your teeth... I'll go get Shinobu. You stay here!"

Zenitsu stomach growled.

"Please go..."

Tanjiro left to find Shinobu as Zenitsu was left alone.
