The Encounter (Gladion x Reader)

Chapter 2

*y/n POV*

"I pick-"

"Eevee get back here!" Nurse Joy said

Before I could even pick my Pokemon I look over and see an Eevee run towards me followed by the concerned yelling.

"What the?"

The Eevee then hides behind my back like it was hiding from Nurse Joy.

"An Eevee" I said

I started petting it making it calm down a little before picking it up and putting it on my lap.

"Shhh it's ok. You don't need to be scared."

The Eevee looked up at me giving me a cute smile and licking my nose making me laugh. I knew then right away, I knew which Pokemon I wanted to be my first.

"Professor Kukui. This may sound crazy. Maybe not. But I know what Pokemon I want."

"And which Pokemon will that be" he said

"I chose Eevee to be my first Pokemon. Right away when I looked at her. When I made eye contact with her, I felt this connection between us. Like it was meant to be. I chose Eevee. If that's possible." I said

"Well let's see if Eevee choses you"

I put Eevee down off my lap and I looked her in the eyes

"Eevee, do you want to be my partner?"

She didn't even hesitate before jumping into my arms, rubbing her head into my chest. I started laughing and I couldn't be happier.

"Wow. An Eevee for a first Pokemon. And this Eevee." Kukui said

"What's that supposed to mean?" I said

"This Eevee wouldn't let anyone touch it, or go near it. It would always try to escape. It almost did today. Until she saw you that is and changed her mind. So, you must have the magic touch y/n"

"I guess so"

We walked out of the Pokemon center with smiles on both of our faces.

"We're going to have so much fun together Eevee"

"Eevee" Eevee said

She then jumped on my shoulder and we decided to get something to eat. We headed into town into the food court and got some Pokepuffs because we were both hungry.

"Are those good" I said

"Eevee" Eevee said with enthusiasm and a smile on her face

"I'll get another before we leave for later"

*Time skip*

We were walking home and it was getting late. It was sundown so we decided to just watch for a minute to take a deep breath in and out.

"It's so beautiful here" I said

"Ev" Eevee said

Yo! Whacha doin with that Eevee girl?

Eevee and I turn around in confusion and see 3 kids all in black with bandanas wrapped around their faces

"Can I help you with something?" I said

"Yeah, we want that Eevee." The blue haired guy said

"In your dreams" I said

I was about to walk away when he called out his Zubat

"Let's battle. Now!" he said

I was unsure of this. I've never battled before. I've watched Pokemon battles and man were they awesome. Especially this Ash kid. He was pretty cute, but he was strong. I wish he was the one battleing for me. But nevertheless, Eevee then jumped off my shoulder and gave me a determinded look

"Eevee! Eevee!" she said

"Are you sure about this Eevee?"

"Ve"

"Ok then. If it's a battle you want, it's a battle you'll get"

"Zubat use wings attack" he said

"Eevee, dodge and use quick attack"

That did some damage but not a lot. I have to use her full power

"Zubat, use bite"

"Okay these guys are getting on my nerves. Let's end this now. Eevee use Swift!"

"Eevee!"

And with that Zubat was unable to battle. The 2 other kids didn't even bother to battle us. They saw how strong we were.

"You lost. Now leave me, and Eevee alone for good." I said

"Eevee!"

"Whatever. You'll regret this" he said and the ran away into the night

"Eevee we won our first battle and you were amazing" I said as I hugged her and swung her around in my arms

"Eevee" she said

"Not bad. For a Newbie"

I stopped spinning and I turn around and I see a guy, around my age(you guy are about 16 in this)wearing all black with a red stripe down his sweatshirt with blonde hair and bright green eyes

"Exuse me?" I said is a sassy tone with my hands on my hips

"You heard what I said. Not bad for a newbie" he said

"Was that supposed to be a complimesnt?" I said with a slight smirk

"Not really. I was just saying it because those guys were weak." he said

My mouth dropped and I got angry

"Well for your information Mr. Edgelord, I think we were pretty awesome out there. And we dont need your snarky attitude." I said

"Eevee!"

"Whatever" he said as he was walking away

"Wait!" I said

"What"

"What's your name?"

"I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours"

"y/n. Now you."

"Gladion"

And with that he walked away into the night. 'Gladion' I thought to myself. Eevee and I finally got home after a long day, and we decided to go straight to bed.

"What a day, huh Eevee?"

"Ve"

As I looked up to my ceiling I couldn't help but wonder who that Gladion kid was, and if I would ever see him again

"Gladion"

Then I fell right to sleep
