Chapter 6

"Juliet!"

"Cheryl stay back!"

They were supposed to be the perfect family. Loving and supportive parents, financially stable, beautiful and polite children with intelligent minds. Going to each town event and celebrations together with those wide smiles. Always together. They were perfect. Normal.

Or at least, that's what others thought...

Bruised skin, bloody faces, wounded bodies, corrupted minds and stolen innocence. That was how the Blossoms lived. Hidden behind closed doors were the true monsters that were yet to break free completely.

"You useless ungrateful brat! You dare raise your voice at me?!" his voiced boomed through the eerie dark depths of Thornhill.

"No!" Juliet yelled as she was lifted of her feet by her blouse.

"You are nothing if it weren't for me! I should have killed you myself when you were born!" he sneered close to her face.

Cheryl couldn't stand it. She would have been fine with him doing it to her, just not them. They were too young for it. She was determined to keep them safe as much as she could from the day they were born and she intended to keep that promise.

So with every bit of energy and courage she had left, she surged forward towards him. When her body collided with his, he finally let go, allowing Juliet to run off to where Jason was. With a roar, he grabbed Cheryl by her hair and so it began.

It happened so often that Cheryl barely flinched anymore each time it happened. It was all worth it she said. As long as they were safe. This was a position she and Jason often found themselves in. At the receiving end of their father's wrath.

Weeks spent with bruises, some healing and some new. But fortunately, Clifford was smarter than he looked and often avoided visible areas. Fading bruises and wounds were littered all across their bodies accompanied by scars.

This was how it was.

"You are nothing but a freak. But they don't know that do they? Walking around with a goddamn dick between your legs? Hmm? Underneath all those skirts was a cock. Nobody will ever love you. No freak like you deserves love." he said to her.

That was what he always said. She practically memorized it by now. It was a mantra inside her mind. She knew it wasn't true, but couldn't help the ray of emotions it brought up within her.

"Let her go!" Sam yelled as he beat his little fists into his hip.

"Sammy no!" Cheryl said whilst tears stream down her face. "Go protect and hide with Julie" she urged. Finally, he seemed to take the hint and ran up to their room with Juliet in tow.

And so it went on. The endless cycle of violence at the Blossom estate. At the hands of their own father no less.

"Just you wait Cheryl dear. When all is right you'll never be seeing any of those nasty little scums. We're going to rectify and cleanse you. Soon enough you'll be free of those deviant thoughts." He said with a cold smile before everything went black.
