It's been a week since they've found Cheryl and her siblings. After the 3rd day they were finally settled in and were comfortable. They've even established a routine. Toni and Cheryl would often take turns washing the dishes and cooking meals. Meanwhile the kids would just watch their cartoons and play with a couple toys the boys brought over. Aside from the toys, the boys also brought the boy clothes from when they were little. Another thing is that the kids were finally speaking a few words, she even learned their names were Samuel and Juliet. Life for now was over all okay, beside the nightmares Cheryl usually got.

But today was the day that Betty would come by. They've already told her about it. At first she was shocked, in denial, but she couldn't deny it forever when the truth was right in front of her.

They were currently in the living-room playing a game of snakes-n-ladders, Juliet was obviously beating them, when a knock came from the door. So Toni stood up and opened the door for them. There stood Betty in her usual ponytail with a wary expression on her face.Beside her stood Veronica who held her hand, offering some sort of moral support for what was about to come.

When she lead them inside, Betty's eyes were immediately drawn to Cheryl and vice versa. Betty let go of everything she was holding, including Veronica's hand, while Cheryl abruptly stood up and they ran to each other, arms wide in embrace as they met in the middle, giving each other huge bear hugs. All the while Toni and Veronica were tearing up at the sight of the reunion.

When Cheryl "disappeared", Betty never stopped hoping that maybe one day, she'd see her beloved cousins again. She refused to believe that they ran away, she knew Cheryl better than that. She knew that she would've told her if she ever did. So she held on to hope that she's return, but that hope started wearing thinner and thinner, until she could barely hold on anymore. But she still did.

"I missed you so much" Betty sobbed, "They all said you ran away o-or that y-you died" she cried into the redhead's shoulder.

"JJ... h-he- he's d-dead" Cheryl sobbed as she held on tighter to her cousin's embrace, as if she would be back to the horrible place she was in before if she let go.

"Oh my God" Betty said, barely getting the words out. After their little moment, Betty's eyes drifted over to the kids. "You guys have gotten so big" she smiled before they enveloped her in a hug.

The day was spent like that, with stories being told as Betty and Veronica caught Cheryl up on the newest gossip in town. Toni couldn't help but admire her once more. How her eyes glimmered with amusement when Betty told her about fun stuff that happened, or that time Archie got his hand stuck in cement when he dozed off. It was refreshing to see a smile on her lips. It was as if none of the terrors they've been through ever happened, like for once, Riverdale was just like any other normal town. But little did they know that there were even darker secrets waiting to be revealed in the shadows. That "The town with pep!" was far from what it was made out to be.
