"Kyle, you better not act on this, understood?" Mandy told her husband, pointing her finger at him.
He raised his hands in surrender, "I made a promise from the beginning that I wasn't going to mix professional and personal when it came to Jimmy and Isabelle, you know that."
Mandy sighed, rubbing her face with her hands. "This is just a whole mess. The state she's in is breaking my heart."
Kyle sighed. "He should've let her explain. I keep thinking that. And then I remember how he found out that she was pregnant and I give him the benefit of the fucking doubt when I don't want to."
"I know." She responded, shaking her head. "Is there any progress on finding out who this asshole of a source was?"
He shook his head. "Nothing yet. But when I find out, I swear to God—"
"You're not going to do anything." Isabelle's hoarse voice sounded throughout the living room as both her parents turned to look at her.
"Honey." Mandy spoke as she got up and walked to her.
Isabelle shook her head as she kept her eyes on her father. "You're not going to do anything, dad. Please."
"Sweetheart—"
She walked up to him. "I don't care if that person ruined my life, I'm not going to let them ruin yours. If you do anything to them then you're going to be liable for whatever the hell happens." She looked up at him with her red, puffy eyes as her bottom lip quivered. "I think I just lost the love of my life, I can't risk losing you too. Please." She begged him as her voice broke.
And with her begging eyes looking up at him, how could he deny her that? His daughter was standing in front of him, completely heartbroken. She's never looked so helpless before and he hated it. He knew if he were to open his mouth to reply to her, then he'd end up crying. So, instead, he answered her with a hug. A hug that spoke a thousand words.
Kyle was never one to stand aside and watch his daughter hurt. He was aching to fix this problem but he knew it wasn't his right to. The truth needed to come out from her, at least this once. She had that taken away from her when that article came out, so he'd be damned if he wasn't going to make sure that she would be the one to speak the whole truth.
Every time he closes his eyes, the only thing he sees is how broken she was when him and Claire raced to her apartment. The moment they parked, they had seen Jimmy's car pull out and speed away. They knew it was bad but not to the extent of what they saw. It was utterly heart breaking.
She had sobbed all night, not stopping for a second. She only stopped when she fell asleep at 7 in the morning. And the only reason she fell asleep was probably because she cried so much that she could barely open her eyes.
But he knew it wouldn't be fair to think that she was the only victim here. Jimmy was as much of a victim as she was. He could only imagine his state since he'd taken the day off yesterday.
Jimmy wasn't doing any better, at all. He couldn't wrap his head around what had happened. He couldn't believe that she would hide this from him. His Isabelle, his Bella, the love of his life, would hide this? Why would she do it? Why would she not tell him that she was pregnant?
He tried recalling every and any time they had talked about the future when they were together, and they did that a lot. Not once did he ever give her the idea that he didn't want children. Not once did he ever give her the idea that he wouldn't be there with her every step of the way.
She had broken his heart when she told him she couldn't stay with him in Foxborough. She had broken his heart when he walked into their—his—apartment and saw that she had her bags packed.
