Short chapter, I'm sorry! Mostly a filler!

Jimmy looked at her in shock, "baby, you want to elope?" To be honest, he was shocked. He knows how much it means to her to have her father walk her down the aisle. He also knows how much it means to her that their families are present.

"You don't want to?" She asked, feeling deflated.

His hands immediately cupped her cheeks as he looked into her eyes. "Love, of course I want to be married to you this instant. But I know you. I know that you want your parents there. I know you want my family there. It's always been your dream."

"I know. But my dream is also to be married to you, Jimmy."

He smiled. "I love you, you know that?" She nodded. "And it's because I love you that I unfortunately, much to my dismay, have to reject your offer. Baby, you'd regret it if your dad didn't walk you down the aisle. You'd be upset if you didn't have your dance with him. You might not think so at this exact moment, but I know you."

She sighed. "How is it you know me better than I know myself?"

Jimmy chuckled. "Because you're my everything."

"I love you, so damn much." Isabelle whispered as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

[A few days later]

Isabelle walked inside of their house as she put her purse down, sighing deeply. She knew what she had to do and why she had to do it. That was why she had done it without a second thought.

"Hey, you're home." Jimmy spoke as he walked into the living room, kissing her cheek. "How was work?"

"Like usual. Thankfully no major injuries. The season is almost over, so thank God for that."

Jimmy sighed. "I feel terrible. I can't help but think that if things had gone differently that day, we could have been on the road to the playoffs."

Isabelle wrapped her arms around him. "it isn't your fault. Things happen. Besides, we're on the road for the second overall pick. Maybe it's fate, y'know? Good things can come out of bad situations."

"Maybe you're right." He kissed the top of her head. "But don't think I didn't notice the slight down look on your face a moment ago. What's going on?"

As they sat on the couch, Isabelle turned to him and folded her legs, grabbing his hands in hers. "This is technically my last season as a fellow and I can be able to land a full-on sports medicine job without having someone supervise me or be the boss of me, technically."

He nodded. "Finally landing a lead doctor job, I know."

"And you know that we're together now...and basically, I mean..." She sighed, not able to get the words out.

But it didn't take Jimmy long to catch on as he finally understood. The rules making a presence in his mind quickly. "We can't work together."

"I know dad and John would probably try to find a way because they wanted me to sign on and all, most likely not have me take care or look at any of your, god forbid, future injuries. We would also need to be very professional and barely communicate during open practices and games. But I said no."

He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "You said no?" She could tell that he was becoming upset and confused, old memories making their way to the front of his mind.

"Jimmy, I said no because I want to be able to interact with you. I want to kiss you before games and I want to celebrate with you after your wins and comfort you after losses. I want to be able to be with you in public during those times because celebrating together is the best part."

"Baby, your job..."

"I love my job. Don't get me wrong. But I love you more. I loved being with you throughout the whole season and just working together but we were able to interact back then." She sighed as she started playing with his fingers. "You're going to think I'm weird but I want to be in the stands during your games. I want to travel with Claire to watch your away games. I want to be affectionate with you like all the players' partners are with them. I want to be there, completely, with you. Not off to the side trying to take care of other players and not be able to concentrate on you."

He smiled as he caressed her cheek. "I would love that, too. I just don't want you to let go of your dream job."

Isabelle smiled. "I won't need to."

"What do you mean?"

"A week ago, before any of this talk with dad and John, the Warriors' GM called me. He offered me the job as the head doctor. I didn't give him an answer though. But I told him that if I were to take the job, my schedule during football season would have to accommodate the 49ers' schedule."

"What did he say?"

"That it wouldn't be a problem. As long as I take the job, he's willing to work with my schedule. But obviously I'd have to start after this current basketball season ends."

Jimmy's eyes lit up as he smiled. "Baby, what are you waiting for? Call him back!"

"I was waiting to talk to you about it, babe."

"And I love and appreciate that you did, but call him now. I'm going to prepare us some celebratory drinks."

Isabelle raised her eyebrows as she looked at him, "uh, Jimmy...celebratory drinks?"

He looked at her as he was now in the kitchen, his hand searching for something in the fridge. "Yeah, I stocked up on sparkling juice." He said as he raised his hand that held the bottle.

The confused look on her face turned into shock, which then turned into one of guilt because she actually thought he'd forgotten that she is sober. "Whoops?"

Jimmy laughed at her expression as he started setting up some snacks. "Just go call them."

"Aye aye captain!" She squealed as she got up and ran into the office space they made.
