(April 2012):
As soon as the professor closed the tip of his marker, Isabelle was quick to shut her laptop and put her things away. It was the second to the last day before Spring break started and to say she was just about done was an understatement. She needed a week off to just relax, even though she had to study throughout the break.
"Just about over it, eh?"
She looked over to her side where her classmate, Max, was standing, an amusing smile on his face. "More than ever."
He chuckled. "Yeah, this semester was hectic. Crazy that it's not done yet."
She laughed. "I know, right?" They walked in sync with each other out of the room and subsequently out of the building. "Do you have any plans?"
He shrugged. "My friends and I usually go down to Florida for a few days just to let go for a bit, you know?" She nodded. "How about you?"
She shook her head. "I usually use this time to study and get a head start on finals. Been that way since I began college but considering I was in Texas last, I was able to be home. So, this is quite different."
"Yeah, but your parents must be proud, huh?"
She nodded. "They're my support system."
They kept the small talk going as they walked to the parking lot, up until a jealous someone interrupted them.
"Hey babe." Jimmy spoke, intentionally putting his arm around Isabelle's waist, as if he was claiming what was his.
Isabelle smiled at her boyfriend. "Hey." She looked back at Max. "Max, this is—"
"Jimmy Garoppolo." Max finished for her, extending his arm. "It's nice to finally meet you, man."
Jimmy returned the gesture as he shook his hand. "Nice to meet you too." He spoke, although it was farther from the truth.
"I'll see you tomorrow for class?" Max asked Isabelle as he redirected his attention to her, smiling.
She nodded. "See you."
He turned on his heel and walked towards his car as Isabelle looked at jimmy. "You always wait for me by your car."
Jimmy shrugged, as he began to get lost in her green orbs. "Couldn't wait to be next to you."
Her insides felt like they were melting as he spoke. "Hmm." She hummed as she stretched herself up and gave him a peck on the lips. "Did I tell you how much I loved you today?"
Jimmy grinned as he brought his lips to her ears. "Yeah, I think it was when you were getting out of my bed naked. Oh wait, I think it was when we were in the shower together, too."
It didn't need to be said that her cheeks were red. "You really have no filter." She playfully scolded him as he laughed. "But nonetheless, it was an amazing morning...and night before." She winked, as she wasted no time getting in the car after he opened her door for her.
He smiled, getting in the driver's seat. "So, I have something to ask you."
"Shoot." She smiled, looking at him.
"I was thinking of going home for Spring break. Don't really feel the whole Miami shit everyone's doing this year."
She nodded, even though she was hoping he'd stay with her, but she couldn't be selfish. He was a family man and anyone who knew him knew that his family were a big part of his life.
