You Belong With Me

Twelve.

"What's up with that guy?", tanong ko sa tatlo.

"Baka kinilig!", Coraline exclaimed.

I snorted. Impossible! He's too conceited to be flattered by compliments.

We continued watching the movie until we finished it. Chandler didn't come back though. Lumabas ako sa entertainment room. Yoyong and Dodi fell asleep on the large couch while Coraline went out to answer a phone call.

I looked for Chandler and I found him near the pool. Nakapameywang siya habang nakatanaw sa malayo.

"Hey. You didn't go back."

Napatalon siya ng kaunti.

"Pors naman, nanggugulat ka eh!"

"Sorry," I chuckled.

Tinabihan ko siya. I looked up at him. His face is serious. Ano na namang drama nito?

"Are you okay?"

He only nodded. Nakatanaw lamang siya sa malawak na lupain. I followed his gaze but all I can see are trees!

"What are you looking at?"

"Chini-check ko kung makaka-zoom ba ang mga mata ko," my brows furrowed at that. Chandler then sighed.

"Pors, may sasabihin ako..."

"Okay."

"May nagugustuhan na ako," matamlay niyang sambit.

Napalingon ako sa kanya.

"Yeah right. Sino sa lahat ng dine-date mo?"

"Wala sa kanila."

"Oh? Then who?"

"Basta!"

Napatawa ako. Akala ko pa naman ano na!

"Sa tingin mo magugustuhan niya ako?"

"Hmmm, I don't know. If she likes someone like you then maybe," I shrugged. "But if it were me, probably not."

Mapanuya akong ngumisi. Nilingon niya ako gamit ang malulungkot na mga mata.

"Grabe ka naman. Bruha!"

"Gosh! Can you please be energetic now? I don't like it when you're... like this."

Chandler only made a face... a very ugly face.

Monday came and I am stuck in the office again! I already had two meetings and its only 11am! Ugh. This week will be stressful.

Launching na kasi mamaya ng unang TVC kaya nagme-meeting na kami para sa pangalawa. There are also other projects that I need to attend to!

"Pors...", napaangat ang tingin ko kay Chandler at napasinghap nalang.

"Chan, not now."

"Hindi. May problema tayo."

"Ano?", I asked impatiently.

"Ayaw i-air ng Channel 8 ang TVC! Nakausap ko ang chairman at sabi niya ay hindi daw tayo nagbayad."

Napatayo ako sa narinig. What the hell?!

"I thought everything is settled! Mrs. Tala and Seth are the ones in charge for that! They hired an agent to negotiate!"

"Alam ko. Pinuntahan ko na si Seth pero sabi niya si Mrs. Tala daw ang nakikipag-usap sa agent."

"Then go to Mrs. Tala!", napakamot siya sa batok.

"Yun ang problema. Wala na lahat ng gamit niya sa opisina."
