Dangers of Love

Part 9

J'onn's POV
Alex has been worried all morning. Kara hasn't returned her calls but I'm sure there was a good reason. I don't know what will happen to Lena and Kara. They both love each other but they are both in grave danger. Kara's secret could get out while Lena could be killed. I saw Kara fly into the DEO with Lena. I figured that she would have Lena by her side at all times but that will distract Kara. I walked over to them and greeted them. They both seem very tense.

J'onn: Kara I need to speak to you alone.
Kara: J'onn I cant leave-
J'onn: Kara we will be 5 feet away and you can even see her if you want. I need to discuss something with you.
Kara: Fine, what could be so important.
J'onn: Kara I get that you want her safe but constantly being on guard is going to affect you. You can't let this distract you from work. You live two lives. One being Kara Danvers who's dating Lena Luthor and then Supergirl who's dating Lena Luthor. Those two lives are dangerous. Brining her to the battle grounds will cause a bunch of people to get hurt.
Kara: Are you saying that I have to leave her in someone else's care?
J'onn: Yes and no. Yes because she can't be with you 24/7 and no because she can be around you in simple places but not on a fighting ground.
Kara: But I don't know who to trust-
J'onn: Ah see you are turning into Lena. Trust issues. Be on guard but don't stop trusting people just because a certain group hurt someone else.
Kara: Yeah well how can I not? Anyone could hurt her.
Alex: Sorry to interrupt but Kara don't you see. She's not top priority. You know that. She can be some days but not everyday. There's a lot more than Lena's life at stake. I'm proud of Lena for trusting you but you have to trust her to.

I knew Kara hated what we were saying. Alex is right. There are a whole bunch of people at stake. It's not just Lena. I knew Lena could hear us so I decided to talk to her.

J'onn: Hello Lena
Lena: Hi J'onn do you need something?
J'onn: I just want to express some concerns we have. I know Kara wants this to happen but she hasn't brought it up yet. So I'll suggest it. Would you consider when you're all healed to train with Alex? She's great at self defense and it would keep you safer.
Lena: I'll have to speak with Alex about that. This morning Kara did look lost in thought so that's probably what she was thinking about. I want her to focus on work. I to need to focus on work.
J'onn: Thats very true. I've installed extra cameras in Catco and L-Corp. I do hope everything goes back to normal. We have a lead on tracking your mother.
Lena: That's good. Can't say I'm happy about what is going on but it's life with a Luthor.
J'onn: Thats true. We actually enjoy your company so everything is good.

With that I left Lena to go talk to Winn about our leads.

Alex's POV
God Kara is being so stubborn. I can't take it anymore. She can't see that Lena needs space. Kara needs to work and so does she. I'm sure Lena has a crap load of paperwork stacking up. I stopped talking to Kara before I got more aggravated and brought Lena to L-Corp to get her paperwork. I saw Kara's face but she needed space from her. I called Maggie to have her officers placed inside and outside of L-Corp while we're there. Lena and I walked to her office and I wondered if there something here. She picked up her paperwork and started walking over to her shelf to grab something. I noticed something outside the window and I ran at Lena. There was a sniper outside. I pushed Lena behind the wall preventing her from getting shot. The bulled grazed my side as I pushed her. I was annoyed at the damn assassins. I called Maggie and she rallied her officers.
Lena: Alex are you okay?!
Alex: Lena when Maggie gets here you are leaving with her you hear me.
Lena: But what about you. I mean Kara-
Alex: There is an assassin outside this building. You need to get as far away as possible and be secretive as possible.
Lena: I'll call Kara.
Maggie: Lena I already called Kara let's go we need to get you out of here.

With that Maggie brought Lena out of the building. I got up and walked to the door. I would say I was lucky that it only grazed me. I saw Kara and waved her down. She rushed to me and brought me to the DEO. I really hope Kara doesn't kill me for brining her. She got out with Maggie safe and sound so she wasn't hurt. Kara seems tense and confused on why Lena wasn't with me but I guess we just have to wait for Maggie to bring her to the DEO.
